You don't even have to leave your house to vote anymore. Actually, when those annoying people from the democratic or republican party call they would be more than willing to fill out an absentee ballot request form that gets an absentee ballot sent right to your house. This leads me to my question, why do so many Americans still not vote? Should we look down upon them? Revoke voting rights? Any thoughts?

I don't know....i've voted in every election since i was old enough to do so...i think if you don't vote then you shouldn;'t complain about the goverment. Though i agree with the person above about the '00 & '04 elections...the most popular person wasn't elected so maybe people are thinking now why bother...
which i sad really because how are you going to change the government if you don't get out and vote.

I always ask those that do not vote why they don't. The overwelming reason is that it will not do any good. They feel that the politicians are only out to make their pockets fat and are not trying to make this country better for the masses. Too many peopld died so that everyone has the right to vote. To not vote should be a crime with a big fine. That would get them to the poles.

if there were a person who i truly beleived was free from corruption , and had a real plan to help this counrty, i'd vote for him\her. i will vote this year , but it's gonna be a crapshoot . seems so pointless to vote anyways, they say one thing and do or dont do another, sling dirt at one another when they should be offering a real plan to get votes. its a political zoo. but as an american i will vote because i still have the right. alot of people just dont give a crap because it is such a confusing mess. gives them a headache listening to one party slam another when they should be presenting a plan that is clear and concise.

I believe that everyone has a right to vote and should vote; however, many people feel their vote doesn't count. This happens a lot in the presidential elections where our votes aren't tallied but each state is given so many delegates.

As for the Senators in my state i think of the Amnesty persons surely had one among them on their ingredient, yet as quickly as Bush began performing not extra valuable than the illegals, so some distance as fairly asserting absolutely everyone that became into against amnesty became into racist,i'm exceptionally constructive he lost yet another vote there. advert

The system is so corrupt I wouldn't blame them....Its easy to get disgusted with the system this country runs on.......look at the electoral college....It got George Bush in Office in 2000.....I wouldn't look down on these people I would reach out and educate them.....kind of like a grass roots democracy.....the only power we have to change IS the power of the vote....regardless of how F'd up the system is......The more involved a person feels the more they want to participate.......and Because the current administration shits on the poor.....poor people feel helpless and powerless therefore wanting nothing to do with our government.......So again, don't look down on them......embrace them because they are your fellow Americans like it or not.

Why should anybody bother to vote if the U.S. Supreme Court won't let our votes be counted? Why should we vote if the Court won't let us have the laws a majority of Americans (or their elected politicians) have voted for because they, the Justices on the Court, have a different definition of "liberty" or "equality" than a majority have?

I have voted in every election I was eligible for since 1978...both local and national. I now vote by mail so I don't have to leave my house to vote.

Because they like to say a lot of crap about how sucky the president is, when they didn't vote. They like to go on about how the other candidate would have been so much better, when they themselves had nothing to do with the election process and should have absolutely no say in what is going on.
