How does the structure of the government under the Constitution divide power?

The working class against the aristocrats, Proletariat against the Bourgeoisie, Socialists against the Fascists... Last fought to the death during WWII between Socialist/Communist Soviet Union and Fascist Nazi Germany... It is about to happen again right here in the USA... The Social Liberal Democrats against the Fascist Conservative Republicans! History DOES repeat itself! The Bush Administration divided the nation... Both sides are digging in... This battle is just getting started and it is going to get ugly! Understand which side you are on before you stand your ground...

With "pre-emptive strikes", ignoring international law, sequestering America from international court, G. Bush effectively votes for jungle in which USA is the biggest boy (for now). He has lots of support. Many dismiss UN as corrupt and ineffectual. Humanitarian work through UNESCO seems widely unvalued or criticised. General Assembly has no way of enforcing resolutions without US support, and they are frequently blocked in so-called Security Council anyway. So where from here? Choice is first; action or inaction follow. Do we just go with the flow?

To all those anti-illegal people out there. Learn some history!! Some of you say that illegals come over here because they are criminals looking for new prey. I bet you didn't know that the state of Georgia was founded to give criminals in Britain a second chance. Because of prison overcrowding in Britain, the King ordered the land in Georgia be set aside for these criminals to start their own settlements. So, we already have criminals that were amongst us. As for those of you who claim to be Native American, shame on you, are you not proud and aware of your heritage. The Brits came and stole your ancestors land from you, illegally. For those who claim to argue against it for the standpoint of welfare and social services, your argument is false. In order to apply for social services you must be a US citizen with valid proof and supporting documentation. Even if they could get it, they can't send food stamps home to Mexico.

I have a friend who received probation for a misdeamnor battery, pled guilty, received probation and then was arrested for a low level felony the following week. He is currently serving five months in county jail for the low level felony. What will the county of the first charge - the misdemeanor battery - do? He thinks he might have to serve up to a year in county jail, since the second one is a felony. I don't think so, because he had already started the probation program, which included already completing his 40 hours of community service, starting the counseling and and paying $200 of the $750 in fines. Does anyone have specific answers? I am only looking for information, not "don't do the crime if you're not ready to do the time" type response. I just want practical knowledge, not judgments. Thank you! This all occured in California, if that helps anyone answer.

Haebius Corpus - or the right for an individual to petition a court (pleaing one's case) is an inalienable right that separates the United States and other Democracies from dictatorship and oligarchy. Right now the US government (both parties) have overwhelmingly supported the right to maintain torture as the means for achieving an end. And have made a resolution that would not allow prisoners of war to plea a case.

How do you think this is being viewed by the rest of the world?

Do you think this might perpetuate more terror acts?

Does it strike you as funny that we are fighting a war to instill democracy in one country, while removing a core function of democracy at home?

THIS IS NOT A DEM OR REPUBLICAN THING it is ALL government, so please keep ideological rants to a low roar.

In developing its nuclear program. Iran is using strategies that allowed its enemy Israel to assemble the Middle East's only atomic arsenal without admitting it had one, according to a leading expert on the Israeli program. " Whether deliberately or inadvertently, there are elements of resemblance between the way Iran is pursuing its nuclear program today and the way Israel was pursuing its own program in the 1960s," Avner Cohen, author of a landmark study entitled "Israel and the Bomb," Whether deliberately or inadvertently, there are elements of resemblance between the way Iran is pursuing its nuclear program today and the way Israel was pursuing its own program in the 1960s," Avner Cohen, author of a landmark study entitled "Israel and the Bomb,"
This is a great irony of history but Iranian policymakers and nuclear technocrats may be strategically mimicking
the Israeli model

Look at all these dispicable acts of rape and child molestation by police officers.

Should these officers have their nuts chopped off?

Or should they go to prison for life?

Do we need more investigations of police officers.
