I'm writing a business law paper and I need an example of a law that was sooo bad, unfair, unjust, etc. to the point where it was OK for no one to follow that law. "Silent Protest" or something..

I've heard that in one of the southern states there used to be a law that a man could beat his wife like once a month or week or something like that. Anyway, it was never removed from the books.

Immigration? Prohibition? 55 MPH speed limit?

Murder? (in California, anyway)

Anytime the majority of citizens run afoul of a particular law, it is probably a bad law or, at the least, too restrictive.

It wasn't ok, but alcohol was illegal but they made it anyway. It got so bad they overturned the law!
