True, something people over look all too often. Our military is so strecthed thin around the world, physically exhausted, mentally exhausted and broken down (physically & mentally). Yet if something happens on our homeland or bases around the world, we are left vunerable, unprotected, defensless. Like during Katrina, they took troops who just finished a 1 year deployment and as soon as they got back rushed them to aid in Katrina, more time away from their families, and even more exhausted.

Yet the moral is high and soldier readiness is good to go, as alot of politicians like to say, but they are far from the truth.

Truth is, too many soldiers are taking their ETS when it comes up, too many soldiers a flunking both physically and mentally when it comes to deployablity, the equiptment the soldiers are given is failing and broken - yet their are expected to use it because there is nothing else. The adverage soldier fighting in Iraq is given a Flack Vest and a Kevlar helmet, no other armor, and a flack vet will not even stop the teeth of a dog from penitrating...... but that is what they issue their troops. They have to sandbag their humV's because their vehicles are not equipt with armor to protect those driving it. A bunch bunch more that I can't think of right now.

Our military readiness is down because, (I know this first hand) soldiers are treated like SH*T. The goverment doesn't care about the soldier, their families.... nothing but the mission. Soldiers get paid below min. wage, to die for their country, work 24/7 - holidays and weekend, get substandard medical and dental, and a life insurance policy that pretty soon will go dry. The soldiers physically, mentally and socially are neglected due to the paralell conflicts back to back, if your not in Iraq, your down min. of 6 months up to 1 year and your back in Iraq or Afganistan, there is no real healing, desensitizing, re-intergration. (from my own experience, Re-intergration lasted 1 week, with only 1 block for post war stress traumatic syndrome - where basically they told everyone, if you think you have these symptoms make an appointment and we'll dope you up - get you in and out). Soldiers are taking their ETS because they can't stand being treated like SH*T any more.

So the the reality is by strecthing out our military every where else, our homeland is left vunerable, probably exactly what this administration wants, to keep the American people in fear to continue to manipulate us.

Ever considering we went to an all volunteer tension, the protection tension has been taken care of very kindly. lots greater conflicts have been prevented in an attempt to not scare off the troops. You thoroughly misunderstand the point of having a protection tension. a stable, nicely-arranged protection tension is the main suitable assure of peace ever invented. extremely, i think of you are the common clueless wimp it fairly is scared that sometime, someplace, somebody could ask you to stand up on your own freedoms -- and that thought terrifies you.

We are not ready... This is why we have not yet attached Iran. There will be a draft and a training period of the new recruits then when the GOP determines that we are strong enough we will attack Iran...

It's not the readiness that's down,it's the recruitment levels that are down.

It will be difficult, that's what Iran and their allies are counting on. So we need to be prepared.
