This seems to be the case much of the time... not all, but much...

if a person grows up in a poor home and isn't the smartest... he's pretty much doomed...

you can work hard all your life, but without a degree (if you just can't cut it in college) or even just above average intelligence... you're not going anywhere...

it seems like all of those that make it out of poverty are very intelligent... not even really the hardest workers... and it doens't have to be book smarts, but just business smarts... but still, above average intelligence...

so is that fair for those that weren't blessed by God with business/book intelligence?

Since we have so much in the United States, and some people in Mexico are so poor and starved that they are willing to risk the lives of everyone in their family to bring them to a place (USA) where they can potentially have a better life, why don't you think it is our duty as the wealthiest country on Earth to help them out and try to, at least, give them the opportunity to become more successful?

And no one give me that bullshit about how they take advantage of us. We are the one's who exploit the fact that they have no green card so we give them demenial jobs and pay them WAY less than minimum wage. Maybe if we made it easier for them to get legal work, they wouldn't use our welfare system so much because they could get better jobs and earn more money.

Come on think about it, the government is corupt, just like ours, the housing maket would get another jump start, we would have a smaller border to control, we would get a bigger tax base, all the illegals would be legal, and when Casto dies we can buy that island to. I bet I we asked them to vote on it, they might just say ok.

If someone invented an automated computerized high power sniper rifle that could all by itself spot targets, engage and shoot. Equipped with infrared cameras and sensors and a powerful zoom capable of locking on targets as far as 1 mile.

Then he would plant many of those Robosnipers in an area of the city where he wants to commit a crime.

Would you risk your lives fighting against very effective machinery ?

Wouldn't that have a strong impact against your morale ? Because you know those weapons would never tire, never need food and water, never need rest, could not be incapacitated by tear gas or other chemical weapons. Would be very resistant robust so they could only be taken down with Anti-tank charges. They would be compact so as to be as small a target as possible. And they would never miss: One shot, one hit.

They could find weak spots and hit where you are not protected.

So, would you risk your lives to fight cold and calculating hardware ?

The council retreive a vast number of empty bottles from the flower baskets hung high up along the main shopping street each week. The majority of them are Coca Cola with Pepsi trailing, other hardly a show. The pub interpretation was that more hooligans drink Coca Cola but to some of us it says Coke outsells Pepsi. Old Sid says we are all missing the point and if we can't see it, he's not telling us. Any ideas?
