What's the point we are missing?

Question

The council retreive a vast number of empty bottles from the flower baskets hung high up along the main shopping street each week. The majority of them are Coca Cola with Pepsi trailing, other hardly a show. The pub interpretation was that more hooligans drink Coca Cola but to some of us it says Coke outsells Pepsi. Old Sid says we are all missing the point and if we can't see it, he's not telling us. Any ideas?

Interesting, but I only see that the soft drink bottles are out there. No alcohol bottles....

If you cut the bottom off of a plastic bottle (you didnt specify what material) it can be inserted into the soil and the plant can benefit from the water goin straight to the root. This is very handy in hot weather. I suspect that Old Sid is a gardener & knows the pro's &cons about Coke & Pepsi bottles. he aint saying cos he don't want to give out his secrets.

Perhaps Old Sid is looking at the larger picture,or should I say the taller picture, it could be that he is saying that your town has a disproportionately high number of tall people within it, a logical way forward with this of course is that you drink coke or pepsi you are going to be taller than the average citizen, another side I am sure he will not have missed is that the bins provided by the local council are probaly designed for shorter people and so are inconvenient for tall people to use, therefore there should be special bins for all the taller people so they do not have to deposit their empties in the hanging baskets.

Or something like that ... ;-) ...

I'd say your council has too much time on its hands to be tossing out the idea that coke/pepsi bottles left inside your hanging plant baskets has anything to do with who drinks what and how often they drink it.

you've got me there but the point has to be our tax paying money being wasted on flowers that are being damaged and the councils time in retrieving the empty bottles that are dangling from the hanging baskets .
perhaps that's what old Sid thinks the point is ???

I would say more coke bottles are found because more coke is availble, shech your local store an drug dealer! ;-))
