If so, why did all the stinky, smelly hippies pee and poo all over it at the festival?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know it was at Max Yasgur's in Mt. Bethel. My question refers to a bumper sticker which states :"WOODTSOCK IS SACRED GROUND."
In most cultures, they don't pee and poo all over their "sacred ground."
What's my name, b itches?

There were no nice clean bathrooms or port-a-potties back in the day. The hippies were mostly teenagers... Hippy was coined by the establishment and the media at the time. They considered themselves flower children. The originals were actually called Yippies. Woodstock is not sacred ground, unless you're referring to the event or even figuratively... It was actually held not in woodstock, but outside of it on a farmers property. It rained much of the time, and they all had a good time in the puddles and mud.

It's sacred in the memory of those that were there. They all took their clothes and there was a lotta luv going on (their opinion). You must realized they were a repressed and suppressed generation who feared the war, feared the draft, feared dying for a cause they didn't understand, feared "the establishmetn" amd just about everything else. It was a place they united and it got out of hand but not according to them. No, I didn't go but it was a big release of tension for them and like it or not...they did make a difference. The 60's was an awful but relevant period...except for the likes of Woodstock and protests...information was a one way street. Now you have the Internet, more powerful than CNN, Fox News, the talking heads, et al.

It was just another event, nothing sacred nothing to memorialize, just another concert in a very interesting time in our history.I was in San Francisco in the 60s it was exciting and a learning situation,a time of defiance of a restrictive society, political awareness, civil rights, and anti war protesters..But Woodstock was just another event in an extremely provocative era

I don't know where you get the sacred ground thing but I think that it is a place where people can go to do what they do and smell however they want to. Don't go if you dont like it. No one invited you now did they?

NO! You got it right. The hippies were dirty nasty people who didn't take baths. Many of them came back from Woodstock with Veneral Disease.
However, many of them were "poor little rich kids" who went on to college and received an education. They are now college professors and journalists for the news media.
