Yes. You must be able to do 20 years prior to reaching age 60. I recruited for 12 years for the US Navy, had a lot of folks in the same position. Wish I could tell you different.

The only brach that has raised the age is the army and you have to be through basic by your 42nd birthday. But Ck with National Guard and it wouldn't hurt to call the brach of service you want and ask them if there are exceptions

I believe forty-two is the limit for active duty army. I know it's higher for reserve and national guard although not to sure how much. I have a friend who joined the reserves because he was to old for active duty and switched to active duty though.

Do you have prior service? I'm not sure but the national guard accept older than regular Army.
