Are we living in a "SOFT PRISON" Society?

Do you like living this way?



There are cameras watching you at every bank and 98% of the stores

You and your belongings have to be searched at most government buildings, and you are really searched at the airports

The Schools are getting Guards and metal detectors

Newborn babies have to be issued a Social Security Number

Video cameras on the roads and toll booths, and parking lots

The government has given themselves the authority to wire tap your home without just cause or a court order.

Internet communications are being monitored by the government under the disguise of the "Patriot act"

US mail and any incoming shipments are now subject to random searches including the use of powerful X-ray equipment that can penetrate a Semi trailer.

And there are many more forms of covert observation.

Is this really to be safe or is it a government control issue ?

"Soft Prison" really says it clear and out right.

I see no good reason for them to remain as it is, it's an out-dated and unfair funding mechanism. Both would be more cost efficient in private hands, we'd save thousands in taxes, and can choose a level that suits us. I pay the high tax band, and therefor a lot more into it than poor people, but if we both had an illness, I would go to my local hospital just like them. I think I would like to pay for a private hospital, but why? when I already pay for the NHS, I'm loathed to do it. And with the BBC, I could tolerate 2 min adverts every half hr, if it meant saving £120 a year, considering I watch about 3hrs of BBC programming a week, and that's just footie focus and the occasional match of the day!

I just read a little about this in Discovery.com's military section but could not see the other details. Is it actually a sea going vessel or just an amphibious beach landing craft? A picture even showed it with an aircraft landing facility.

Don’t you realise that people in the whole wide world hate U? Why? When I go through the questions on this site I see a bunch of stupid racist Americans. Citation: “You should just stay here where you belong! And we should export all the muslims in this great Nation!” isn’t that sad? I mean, aren’t you all ashamed? Bush President, Schwarzy Governor, Supporting Israel? I have to say I’m really getting ashamed of being American. I remember last time I came I almost got in a fight cause I was French and France is against the war in Iraq (Thank god, what a worthless and stupid f****n war!) Is that normal? How come most Americans I know think they live in the greatest country in the world without even having visited other parts of the world? Your food is crap, you pollute our planet and use the energy of the world like no other country. And you’re “Proud to be an American”? That doesn’t make any sense to me. The thing is, I’m half French/American and in either one of those two countries I’m pretty much hated for my nationalities… Anyway, I know I can’t change a nation even if I’d like to. What I really don’t understand is that the US is the most powerful country in the world and is populated by idiots, even more, is governed by a bunch of stupid corrupted morons. How can that be? I hate republicans that believe in Bush (THE IDIOT) or in war in Iraq and I hate the Americans who think they have it all bust most of all, I hate racist Americans who never visited any muslim country and who hates muslim people without even knowing. I hate YOU stupid American who votes for bush, has the biggest car, leaves his air conditioning on all day, supports the war, doesn’t care about anything else than his city/state/country, who’s proud of his corrupted and hated country, who believes everything he sees on TV, who supports the death penalty etc… etc… etc… I could go on for pages…

I'm being prosicuted for mulputiple accounts of first degree sexual conduct with one minor. They offered a plea to year max plus other conditions, verus 12 years. Does this mean they don't have a case and really just want to end the case. My lauyer is really pushing me to go to forward with his cost of 26 thousand. I did not do these things but have a issue with one year versus 12 years.

Any advise would be greatful

Damnit all. Why am I such a target for women? Why are the naturally drawn to me like a moth to a flame? I attarct all kinds of women but now im a attracting more and more married ladies....I cannot do that! Now Israel is flirting Syria and hitting its borders trying to draw Syria into the war? Who is making trouble now? Anyhow don't you think Israel is the main reason of the middle east problems??

This question is politely asked of anyone who is living in the UK and is not of english origin.

Do you really find the following examples offensive, and if so, why?

1. The wearing of england football shirts during the World Cup and the use of the St. George flag

2. When I was at school, it was a "blackboard", now it has to be called a "chalkboard" because apparently the aforemetioned is offensive.

3. The nursery rhyme "Baa Baa Black Sheep" has had the word "black" changed to all sorts of weird combinations because that too can be seen as offensive.

This is just a small example of all sorts of areas of our lifestyle and culture that have been changed / banned as it may offend foreign individuals.

This question is asked without predjudice and I would respect polite, constructive answers please, wether they are in the negative or positive. Thanks.

I was on a trip to CAIRO EGYPT. i VISITED THE FAMOUSKHAN EL KHALILI 1000 YEAR OLD MARKET. A fantastic place.
An old egyptian women of baout 80 years of age came up to me and my family ans asked us in broken english where we came from. We told her the USA.
She just simply looked at us and spit in our faces. She said that was because of our support for Israel and the war crimes we had commited in Iraq.
I am never going back to Egypt ever. The auful part of the story is that hundreds of ppl watching this womans spit on us just stood by ans laughed their azzes off. We had to be escorted out of the market with the help of the police who also laughed their guts out at us.
How about that?

did you know that 750 people were killed in Lebanon
60 were killed in a refuge building most of them womens and childrens, 37 childrens.
houses are being desroyed by israel tanks, also bridges so aid can`t cross (trucks and so), also fuel stations were destroyed.

The U.N. has reported that more than 100 Palestinians have been killed during these 19 days
you probably know this one:
21 Israeli and 37 Israeli soldiers were killed

jews don`t jump saying hizballah was hiding in 300 houses stupidity. you keep saying hizballah this hizballah that.

your problem is with hizballah then why you are killing so many lebanese people unarmed citizens innocent childrens ?
and why are you exploding bridges and fuel stations since day 1 ?
what is the bridges and fuel stations got to do with hizballah ?
