Are American people aware they are paying taxes for killing innocent civilians?

is it fair that only "healthy" men or women can be put to death at the time of their death sentence...like if their sick, they get medical attention only to die? that doesn't make sense to me, can anyone shine some light on the subject?

here in Miami, the streets are crammed full of Cuban Americans dancing and celebrating and it's all over every news station on tv. the mayor is begging people to get out of the streets if they see emergency vehicles and stuff like that. is this all over the US news or just local here? it's sorta weird. i'm not cuban so just wondering how big a deal this Castro thing is anywhere else.

Should we stop funding Israel? The Muslims attacked us on 9/11 mostly because of our alliance with Israel. We have given them $108 billion, and they do NOTHING for us.

Is it just the wealthy Zionists in this country that are dragging us into this alliance?

From some of the posts I read it is the American right wing and the bible thumpers that seem to want to control what I read think say and question far more than any other group I've encountered.
Perhaps it a small few that are very vocal or just idiots who got a computer I am not sure.
If I don't agree woth thier position I am either a traitor or stupid if I ask questions they don't like they assume I am against America if I dare question Israel and it's policy I am anti semite. The list goes on -

They seem more interested in controling everyone around them than anyone else. They seem at least one of the bigger threats to free anything I've ever seen.

Funny that maybe it's true you become what you fight and you are what you hate -

Oh no does that mean deep down I really want a Crown appointment so I can do nothing and make huge amounts of money for doing nothing??????.Hmmm His Excelency the lieut Govenor Trout of Ontario?????

Yes or no? Do you think that the Supreme Court should overturn Roe V. Wade? If yes, Why? If no, why?

When he got to the immigration part of his speech he said we need a guest worker program so we have people to work...I quote "the jobs Americans won't do". Not once, but he said it twice in 30 seconds. And then he went on to say something about putting honest money into the hands of "the mud people". What is that about? Mud people? What is he saying?

I am asking this about all government programs and policies. When it becomes obvious that the system being used isn't working as well as it should, why doesn't the government do something to change it? It takes forever to get a new idea into the political circle once something has been decided upon.

Greetings. I asked a similar question on the U.S. site, I thought I'd ask here as well, hoping for the perspective of Australian nationals.

Do such issues as wire-tapping by Homeland Security or the U.S.'s policies at Guantanano Bay seem to be erosions of freedom, travesties of justice... or just necessary evils? Do you think the world looks to the U.S. as the best example of a free country?

I feel we have seen some freedoms erode, but that we still have many freedoms other countries do not. England and Denmark seem "free" to me, perhaps in ways my own country is not. How does Australia stack up? I consider it a free country, though I don't really know much about its government. Is it fair to say Australia is a democracy that still recognizes the British crown?

I believe in the United States and the vision the founding fathers had for it. I think it's seeing some hard times, and I'm concerned about the current direction we seem to be going.

Thank you for any answers. :)

Increasing minimum wage equals higher incomes for min. wage workers. This is a good thing right?
Well, what if that increase means that businesses will make less profits while making the same amount of product? Businesses will not allow their profits to go down, so they will increase the cost of their products. This means that your dollar will no longer buy the same amount of product. This is called inflation. So, about 2-3 years after the minimum wage increase is passed - your increase in pay will buy the same amount of product that it bought before the increase, and the dollar will be worth even less than it is now.

Do you have any idea at all of how many separate federal, state and local police forces there are in this country? Not to mention private security forces, the national guard, and four branches of the armed forces which ARE available for domestic police actions.

If anyone's interested (unlikely), I will hammer out my list of how many separate police entities there are currently operating in America. Thirty or so general types, and literally THOUSANDS of entities if they are named individually.

Everything from your library habits to your physical location (via your cell phone), internet activity, etc. is being monitored right now. And not in secret either. Because so many of you refuse to accept that this is happening, your government can do these things right out in the open. For example, the Patriot Act.

By the way, I'm a NYC lawyer, and I went to NYU. I do not live in a trailer, and I don't even have cable TV. I don't believe in UFO's. I'm not into conspiracy theories

I asked why I couldn't find an Iranian news agency to hear how the war was reported from thier point of view and someone said it had been blocked by Yahoo and google is this true and if so why are they censoring the news I can download?

If it is true what are they afraid of and who gave those orders?

Again IF true I am very very disturbed by it - if false oh well.

And by the way I found a site listed for the Tehran daily news

Anyone want to know what the Iranians and other think report don't report etc etc go to http://aldaily.com/ and look through all the middle east newpapers and yes they are published in English.
