When he got to the immigration part of his speech he said we need a guest worker program so we have people to work...I quote "the jobs Americans won't do". Not once, but he said it twice in 30 seconds. And then he went on to say something about putting honest money into the hands of "the mud people". What is that about? Mud people? What is he saying?

Some of us are speaking up for you MikeH, and will keep speaking up for you. We're as sick of it as you are. It's simply not fair.

My wife and I are Canadian and we are presently immigrating to the USA via legal immigration. We are sick and tired of hearing about "illegal" immigrants. We have paid thousands of dollars and have waited patiently in line now for years and still must wait more (started process in 2000). I recently retired from Canadian military here in Colorado and I spent 20 of my 30 years of military service working for US military organizations and have been actively defending the USA. Yet due to immigration laws, I am not able to work in USA legally. Yet these illegals work, get benefits and have politicians and religious groups fighting for them. I say - screw them. What about us? The ones waiting in line doing it the legal way - who speaks for us?

funny, there was just an article in the new york times about men in the 30-55 age range who are unemployed. turns out, about 14% of men in that age range in the US are unemployed. why? because they won't take jobs that are beneath them or that the pay is lower than what they think they deserve. for others, the problem is that they are coming out of prison and finding that their record makes it difficult to get work as a security guard or cashier.

i know people (my parents and my ex-boyfriend) who had to choose between hiring immigrants or citizens. when they hire citizens for low level jobs, the workers show up late or not at all, have drug issues, do poor work and treat their employers badly. so they hire illegal immigrants and find that they are extremely hard working, always show up on time and stay until the job is done and have a good relationship with their employer.

so, yeah, "the jobs Americans won't do".

I haven't heard it, but the man is right. We only need guest workers for those jobs we don't do, not for the jobs we are doing already. Strikes me as logic.

Mud people ? I admit, I don't have a clue who that are.

Some of the stranger beliefs of the far-right Christians almost sound like the KKK.

Nonwhites are soulless "mud people" according to the racist tripe put out by the group, Christian Identity.

The question is: Does GWB really feel this way or is he using these code words to make his far-right constituency happy? Either way, I'm sure our press will ignore this clearly racist sentiment.

Bush is pro-big buisness, he does not care about a single Mexican coming to America, he is only concerned with them as slave labor.

Mike H - I feel for you, I think there should be some way to help you move along the process. Did you by chance write to the congressmn, of the state you wish to move to ? I think their should be a law to speed things up for some one in your positionl.

Someone heard him say that on the radio yesterday and posted that question - now I am ticked I am going to find the sound byte.

Nothing like driving a wedge through your constituency to show we can't get along and have to give up America.

Bush makes me feel ill. I am so disillusioned that he is the one leading our country. How many times is he going to get by with insulting Americans? Just because he was born with a silver enema up his *** doesn't mean that we all were. Americans will do any job!
