Somebody asked this almost identical question 3 days ago, and I'll repeat my answer.
I voted for him in 2000 and I regretted it about 3 weeks later. His pursuit of an injunction to stop the recounting in Florida was ridiculous, the granting of that injunction by the U.S. Supreme Dictators was a travesty. I didn't vote at all in 2004.
And earlier today somebody asked the question What has Bush done wrong? Here is my answer to that:
So far as I'm concerned, the first thing he did wrong was right after the election of 2000 but before he assumed office. He was so afraid that the re-counts in Florida might result in finding out that he didn't win, he came up with a desperate plan to stop the re-counts. His request for an injunction was pure desperation; it had no legal merit. He lost me when he asked for that injunction. I don't care at all about any of the rest.

In every presidential election, I've always regretted voting for the winning candidate because they never turn out the way they presented themselves. Incumbents are always the worst presidents. The best ones are the previous one and the in-coming one. There's nothing much you can do about Bush. He will be our president until after next election. Better think about who you want to take his place.

I'm a registered democrat, but I voted for Bush because of his conservative views on stem cell, and abortion. I'm not going to say I love the guy, and I don't really like him all that much either..but when it came between Bush and Kerry..I had to go with Bush, because I felt Kerry was insane, and McCain wasn't an option anymore.

I'm sure a lot of people who voted for him are ashamed to admit it now. Even some of his fellow Republicans in Congress are finally getting a backbone and breaking away from the sanctimonious, self-righteous fool. Good for them.

No regrets, the challenges and tribulations Bush has been faced with during his office would have been overwhelming for his predecessors. I truly admire his courage!

I know people who regret it, people who don't, people who didn't vote and regret it, etc. It really depends on why people voted for him. But I didn't vote for him, never have, never will
