No. There is nothing remotely "patriotic" about unquestioningly believing government. The American right wing may claim the word "patriot", but there isn't a single real patriot in the whole lot of them.

I believe that it is the duty of every citizen to consistently challenge and ask questions of our government. I don't believe that our government or any government for that matter always tells its citizens exactly what is true. Yes we do trust details and statements from our leaders but unless the people of this nation or any nation are aware, and not apathetic, the government as a whole tends to leave us out of the loop and and then it's business as usual. I believe that well informed citizens can shape the type of, the direction of, and the purpose of our government.

Absolutely NOT! That's the pathway to a dictatorship when people are blindly led. Malcolm X said "You're not supposed to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong no matter who says it." I think that says it all.

No it is not, governments and leaders have there own interests and they misguide the people to achieve their ends, and innocent people blindly follow them in name of their country.

no, patriotism like voting and citizenship is hard work. A true patriot wants the best for his country and works hard to get it - often disagreeing with what he/she is told.

Are you an American? If you are, you would know that your entire country was founded on a refusal to blindly obey.
