The lady should have sent he message in a more polite manner as she didn't know waht is your political attitude.
That's story is so strange, I'm Egyptian and I do know that tourists are well secured in open areas ... there is a special police authority called the tourism police securing the safety of the tourists.
You should know that many Egyptians lost their beloved in wars with Isreal, that lady may be one of them and as US supports Israel, she was moved strongly with her emotions, you should understand her feelings and not be so angry regardless how far did she went with that.
Israel lost two of her soldiers and killed 830 Lebanease civilians ... that lady may have lost one of her beloved and she just spitted on whome who supported ... not a great deal yeah?

Not that I'm justifying what she did, but I hate to tell you that a vast majority of people (not just in Egypt) feel that way about Americans. Although I think the fault lies mostly on the American Government and not it's citizens people don't usually differentiate between the both. That's why Americans need to stand against their government and try to change their policies (impeaching the current Admin would be such a relief). You can thank Georgie, Condi and the rest of the Bush Admin for that wonderful experience.

US is waging war on Terrorism and we (indians) are with them.
There will be lives lost, innocents sacrified, and some other losses. But that is a noble deed and WE Will WIN The War.
Then we will see, who dares to spit on us!

I'd say it is an isolated incident; anti-American resentment may be prevalent in some MidEast, S E Asian countries, mostly where the majority population is Islamic but it does not mean whole population seethe or take it out on the Americans tourists in the streets - most locals are oblivious and do not pay any particular attention to white tourists.
Last month thousands of USS Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group's crewmen and women IN UNIFORM went sightseeing and shopped in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia (official religion Islam) during their 3-day visit. I saw groups of them chatting happily with some locals at Starbucks and inside the shopping mall.
These US uniformed men and women looked fantastic - so smart and radiant here in the hot tropics. It was very heartwarming for me to see them enjoying themselves. They were proud to be Americans. We were honored by their presence. There is no need to be ashamed of what you are. No need at all.

WHAT? Don't under any circumstance be ashamed of being American. Those who committed the crimes are paying for what they did. But that woman forgot the war crime that happened on 9/11, and in Iraq when AMERICANs were getting their heads cut off with a 3 1/2 inch blade while they were still alive. Or one of our soldiers be captured and raped and her legs broken so she couldn't escape. Never be ashamed. Or all of the men and women who were saving lives in those towers death would be in vien. And all of the millions of soldiers who lay in the ground because they died for this country. Be proud, and please I beg you to support us, your troops. I am one and I really hope I am fighting for a reason. Not for Bush, not for fun or oil. But for people just like you, who have a great life in America, a free life.

I even have study comments of a few of those people who others attempt to have deported, growing to be to be a member of america armed centers and battling FOR usa that may not the time for the yank government to be alienating a human beings so on the brink of their us of a ... WHY you would be able to ask .. alienate them adequate, pi$$ them off adequate and you need to have a proper human beings on your enemies to recruit... in my view, it could be extra clever to settle for them .... welcome them as human beings on your us of a .. cause them to proud and delighted to be known .. instead of offended and envious and wanting to come again at you DOES THAT MAKE ANY experience TO everybody ? EDIT: looks my answer indignant somebody .. i'm curious as to why .. and that i might actual have an interest in understanding why.. SO in case you have been the thumbs-downer e mail me and enable's communicate the situation .. what became it that indignant you .. became it that I wrote that a million/2 the international is anti-american ? in view that's no longer MY VIEW .. besides the undeniable fact that that's what an endless style of individuals international experience .. no need to be ashamed, that's how they have been tutored by their government. it is always the hype created by the govts. either in favour of the community in particular or against them. since the govt. control the media directly or indirectly. in democratic set ups these controls are diluted to some extent.
now you may not be knowing Asians very well but you Americans are unlikely to appreciate an Asian since you too have been brought up in an environment which tells you that Asians are no good people.

If this story is true, you should have kicked that old woman's @$$. You are not the American government and you are not responsible for what's going on in the middle east. I can't understand why people overseas cannot apply this one little bit of common sense.

This is the doing of George Bush. This will happen a few more times, however, you should not be ashamed of being American. You did not cause the unjust wars that bush is sending our children to fight.
