No It is not!
But don't go to shop forms or don't give money to any agencies. Every year US immigration runs this lottery. I know one of my best friend and her husband won and they came to US. I can show the real winners of US green card Lottery. If yo like to get information about green card lottery just visit any Federal Plaza near by you or visit this web site. http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/howdoi/divlott.htm

There is a visa lotery, and the state department has a website at www.dvlottery.state.gov
The other sites offer to apply for you for a fee. They're basically offering a service for people who don't take their time to figure out that the diversity visa program is free, and sponsored by the US government. The reason those sites get so many hits is because they advertise a lot more. However, anyone from the elligible countries can receive accurate information about the DV visa from the US embassy's websites.

There is a Green Card lottery, though I don't know if it is run every year. However, it is free. The $50 might pay for someone to help you fill in the right forms and to fill them in correctly, but I wouldn't trust anyone selling that service on the net. It could be a scam. Better to contact the US State Department. It has a website. Or check with your local US Embassy.

The green card lottery does exist. Though I would imagine that various websites make a scam of it. I would contact the Embassy direct and not go via any other site.

It's true,And it's free, and runs once a year.To participate you must be born in an eligible country,Must have education for more than 12 years High school,Or in a required profession, which needs two years of course to finish it.
It/s 100% True, but the people may charge any money from you to apply on behalf of you, which you can apply yourself too.

The US used to run a lottery for a green card, don't know if they still do - I'd check with the embassy firsst, but I doubt i.

The lottery used to be a free lottery, Ie enter your name int he list for free and hope. THis typoe of scam has been running ofr many many years, pre t'internet, I doubt its worth spending any money to get someone to do this for you. after all you could enter yourself for free

I think there is a lottery but the ad is a ripoff because, you can enter the lottery for free through the US govet. Check the Dept of State website for more info.
I think they may be legit but all they do is process ten minute of paperwork you can do yourself.

be careful of this company USAGC Green Card Services , they claim they can arrange a green card for you and ask you to pay first a 99 euros then they after few days they call you and tell you the interview for your green card is ready with the American consulate and they ask you for your credit card details so they can deduct 4900 euros. BE CAREFULL NEVER PAY THEM $1 THEY WILL STEAL ALL YOUR MONEY

The US Diversity Visa lottery absolutely does exist: I have issued many, many immigrant visas to winners.

On the other hand, there are many, many sites that charge a fee to "help" you enter . Many of those are scams.

Here is real information:

and here is the official warning about being scammed:
