the only news links on the home page are cnn, usa today, new york times,
christian science monitor, and so on. How about a little balance and objectivity in this service? I am not even really a conservative but these organizations seem to thrive on furthering a political agenda rather than reporting facts without the innuendo.

Yes I heard the story of trying to protect themselves from terrorists. Good. What made these terrorists start doing these things in the first place?
Maybe because a bunch of Jews was put there just because the rest of the world was sympathetic to what happened to them in WWII? And then they decided they didnt have enough land so they could go around and push people out of their homes? And kill them if they protested against it? Just because their bible says it used to be their land? What the hell is this crap about? Ok people, yes what happened to the jews in WWII was dreadful but it doest give you the right to take over land and kill people just because your book says the land belongs to you...
Let me give you a scenario...I am Greek...and someone starts a genocide against my people...the US gives a piece of land in California because they are sorry for us...But wait! Our bible says that Nevada is part of our land!! Ok lets push everyone out of Nevada and if they protest we kill

the way things look we will be in Iraq another twenty years or more thats 20,000 dead and over a million seriously injured , IF things continue at this rate .
THEY are blowing up the schools buildings and electric and water service as fast as we rebuild it .
WE have dumped a trillion dollars into this war and so far not one good thing has happened yet .
THE leaders freely elected support IRAN syria and lebanon against Israel and they want us out .
WHERE are the weapons where is the threat to america from sunni or shia's who fight among themselves till now .THEY are almost united in wanting america gone from there country .
WE are now the target of terrorist attacks by almost every Iraq person .
WE have a huge target on our backs and this is not going to change .
Cut and run is not the answer ,hall a$$ out of there is more like it .IN ten hours we can be gone .This would scare them more then anything i can imagine .
YES they will jump up and down in the streets for a few minutes.

It seems the first one still hasn't gotten through to some people. The amendment should declare that the US is a secular nation, and not based on the values of any religion. It should decree that religious morality can not be the basis of any legislation. I would even go further and include a clause that forbids organized or overt public prayer at government functions.

granted I'm not wealthy, but I'm doing OK for myself and I personally don't have any complaints or needs... solid career and a college degree...

I grew up in a very poor area and I was lucky enough to get out... many others were not so lucky... and many of them were hard workers...

because of this, poverty is a key issue for me... I've been there and I know it's more than just "poor lazy people"... and I know if the circumstances had been a little different, I would probably still be there...

It seems like so many on here only think in terms of themself and in terms of "how they can help themself"... perhaps that's part of the problem...
