granted I'm not wealthy, but I'm doing OK for myself and I personally don't have any complaints or needs... solid career and a college degree...
I grew up in a very poor area and I was lucky enough to get out... many others were not so lucky... and many of them were hard workers...
because of this, poverty is a key issue for me... I've been there and I know it's more than just "poor lazy people"... and I know if the circumstances had been a little different, I would probably still be there...
It seems like so many on here only think in terms of themself and in terms of "how they can help themself"... perhaps that's part of the problem...

null_the_liv... interesting point... especially when they talk about "CHRISTIAN VALUES" which one of the major ones is taking care of the poor...
guess they can just "pick and choose" what they want to worry about... Jesus won't mind
