If the world dealt with terrorism and states that sponsored terrorism the way Germany, Japan and Italy were dealt with in WWII, would terrorism stop?

Granted it is a different style of warfare, but 60 years later, Germany, Italy and Japan are successful, contributing nations to the world. All three are in the G8 (Group of 8 richest countries in the world).

If terrorists and terrorist States were dealt with in a most severe fashion as to disuade them from attempting to terrorize, would terrorism stop?

I'm talking full scale war, full occupation, full demilitarization of the people and state, complete destruction of anything that could, may, might, did or is a source of weapons making. Complete utter and total.

We didn't go into Iraq to kill babies and Israel isn't attacking Lebanon to kill babies, it just happens as a byproduct of war.

Hi, Well I became friends with my neighbors, but we had a fall out because I told the mother about how her daughter was talking about hurting her self, and because the daughter wasjelouse that I had found a boyfriend. I still wanted to be there friends, they didn't. Well here is the problem, they have been yelling and harassing my family who recently began renting my home. Saying things about my oldest brother who has a slight disability, and talking about me when I am there. The latest thing is the Human feces (poop) that is being left in my yard, thrown at my house and left on the porch. We dont know if it is the mother, or the 15 year old girl doing it. So what should we do, my boyfriend a criminal justice major told us to call the police, so we called the police they said we had to have proof that it was them doing it. any help would be appriciated.

Both they and the Israelis are bombing civilian areas, right? Seems like they are either both terrorists or both legitimate military operations.

I always see them on here saying things like...

"we should cut off their heads," "we should beat them up" and "we should rape and kill their children"

isn't that the point... we're not monsters and we're stopping monsters...

if we do the things they do... don't we just become the monsters then? Aren't we better than they are?

I mean... can't we beat them the American way... by being moral and just and treating them like humans?

And why do the same people that preach morality seem to be so thirsty for bloody revenge?

Not all conservatives are like this... but at times it feels like an uneasy part of them are like this?

The US granted Amnisty Once before to 3 Million Illegals and it was suppose to be a ONE TIME thing. Now we have between 11 and 20 million more wanting Amnisty. Does anyone truely believe giving Amnisty again will solve the problem? All Amnisty does is Invite More Illegals and Nothing more.

i have a friend that did everything the right way for citizenship. because of the new laws and fights from those who are illegally here. he is being punished in having to start over after 1000's of dollars and lawyers as well as all he was waiting for was his legal social and his citizenship would be done. he never asked the government for help. he pays all his bills paid for his children hospital bills to be born. no government help there either. yet he is getting shafted and he is the right way a person gets it done. he has been paying taxes for years also. where is that fair and why isn't there clauses for those who were doing it the right in the first place based on the laws on the books before all this unfairness stuff was claimed.

just to fing a job..because in your home country there are none.., and you are persecuted..???

Do you think it is when you do not know the language, and you don't know anybody???

But you must leave your home country because there is no chance for you there, and you only want to better yourself, and surport your family..

Why do Americans think that (illegal) immigrants have it easy, and make the choice to leave their country lighttly???

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - When school was canceled to accommodate a campaign visit by President Bush, the two 55-year-old teachers reckoned the time was ripe to voice their simmering discontent with the administration's policies.

Christine Nelson showed up at the Cedar Rapids rally with a Kerry-Edwards button pinned on her T-shirt; Alice McCabe clutched a small, paper sign stating "No More War." What could be more American, they thought, than mixing a little dissent with the bunting and buzz of a get-out-the-vote rally headlined by the president?

Their reward: a pair of handcuffs and a strip search at the county jail.

Authorities say they were arrested because they refused to obey reasonable security restrictions, but the women disagree: "Because I had a dissenting opinion, they did what they needed to do to get me out of the way," said Nelson, who teaches history and government at one of this city's middle schools.
