I always see them on here saying things like...
"we should cut off their heads," "we should beat them up" and "we should rape and kill their children"
isn't that the point... we're not monsters and we're stopping monsters...
if we do the things they do... don't we just become the monsters then? Aren't we better than they are?
I mean... can't we beat them the American way... by being moral and just and treating them like humans?
And why do the same people that preach morality seem to be so thirsty for bloody revenge?
Not all conservatives are like this... but at times it feels like an uneasy part of them are like this?

It's almost as if you don't think we can win... doing things the right way... which is a bit concerning... I think that our military and police are more than capable of eliminating any terrorist threat... even following the rules...
maybe I'm just in a dream world... but I believe in America and morals... aren't you guys the ones that usually say that?

netjr: we should do things the right way because it's the right thing to do.. not to get noticed...
and I believe that our army 99.99999 percent of the time does things the right way... and that's great...

I've used the term "cut off your head" several times; but its in relation to what al queda would do to us if we take the path of negotiation or talk. They will ask for this (hell Osama already has) and they use such an opportunity to rebuild and grow stronger.
There is no need to stoop to there level and we are far from it. What is offensive is when the left minded media portrays the individual misgivings of a few American service people as a big deal and portrays our military as though its a bunch of hooligans. We don't stoop to the terrorist level, but we also don't get credit for not doing so.

It goes both ways. There are liberals here who are quick to blame Americans and slow to condemn terrorists.
I believe we can win by treating them like human beings. This does not mean ending things like Guantanamao Bay providing the captives are treated like prisoners of war. Our prisoners are treated in a disgusting way often being executed but very few people from the left call them on it.

I believe that some of us (I include myself) have come to realize how much terrorists hate us. They keep this hatred alive every day. Literally.
They believe we're weak when we promulgate what they see as a sheepish (Christian) stance. The latest Conservative position is to try to whip up an equal amount of hatred and anger so that those who try to kill us will never be able to predict our response.
Btw, in response to your mention of our military protecting us: Our government did not protect us from those planes on 9/11. They could have and should have.

I'm a Christian conservative and I don't condone what you described in your question. I do believe in standing up to the terrorists. Christian conservatives do not wear 'bomb belts' or carry backpacks full of explosives. There is a big difference between defending your country via military and going around blowing people up with strapped on bombs because you want to get to Heaven and 72 virgins!

I agree that the cutting off of heads and killing and raping the children and women is over the top.
However, I would love to see you stop a militant islamic fundamentalist that has a bomb strapped around his waist with reaoning, logic, and understanding.
Do you really think that is ever going to work? These people think they are on a mission from god!

Because there is little difference between an Islamic fundamentalist and Christian fundamentalist.
There are strategic and operational advantages that result in different tactics being used. But the disregard for human life is the same.

not all liberals are like that, either. So, "dropping to the enemy's level" - who, exactly, is your enemy?
seems like a pretty condescending way to talk about a group of people.
I agree that people need to stop with the whole "let's drop them into a vat of acid" thing - but the holier than thou attitude will get you nowhere.
Just my two cents.

If you see someone committing a violent act, are you going to sit there and watch or are you going to commit violence to help the person being attacked? Quit living in a make believe world.

Well, I'm quite conservative, and I find it offensive when people, conservative or not, say those things. They need to be dealt with, but in a just and fitting way, not "raping and killing their children"
