Liberals used this tactic back in the 60's to get Americans to spit on our awesome solders. Apperently, it still works...

that's like saying why does pro-lifers use dead babies for propaganda?

it happens... doesn't it... yes, it is a byproduct of war... but it's an honest byproduct... the media isn't making it up...

their job is to report everything that's going on... they aren't a government PR service... babies are dying... that's what's going on

why are you so against reporting the entire story? They show the Israeli boys that are missing, which is also horrible... but this is the other side...

That's the excuse that every war criminal throughout history has used, I admit that most of the time this is not the intent of the attacker, but I don't think people should just write it off as collateral damage so easily. I guarantee if it were some kid from your neighborhood, you'd be up in arms about it, and not just telling yourself "I'm sure they didn't meant too" but it's not, so it's easy for people like you to write it off as "acceptable".

So what you're saying is that if they show a dead Iraqi or Lebanese baby it's propaganda, but if they talk about two kidnapped Israeli soldiers - it's justification for war?

because our species reacts very strongly to attacks or tragedies involving our young

it is either an evolved species survival trait or a divine appointment or both, depending on how you see the world, but however, it exists powerfully in our species

naturally, the media, who are trying only to stir things up and sell their product, abuse these strong emotional responses

The same reason political parties use "murdering babies" as propaganda. It's an emotion appeal, and it works in forming mass opinion.

They use it because it preys on most people's hearts. What is the quickest way to upset somebody: showing children getting maimed, abused, etc. It is an emotional attack
