Ok a few months ago I let my manager know that I was in an abusive relationship and that I was planning on leaving my partner, Last week the guy head butted me and left a huge egg on my forhead, I called my manager to let him know what had happened and that I left him but I want to switch my shift so that way he has no way of contacting me and know way of knowing when I am working, come to find out this manager went and told 3 co- workers of mine the situation, and maybe more????

From a general manager standpoint, the manager is in the wrong. i understand notifying the other co-workers for there safety. But they were wrong and if it was me, they would be written up.

No, that was not in line with a good manager's thinking. Though now adays, managers are not taught this line of thinking. Let everyone care, and then let it blow over. Making your work life hard is not what you want.
