Specifically, I know of a kid born in 1986 in Germany, presumably on a US base, while his father was in the US Army. And I know that Germany has strict citizenship requirements so I've always wondered if the kid would be a dual citizen or have no status. Sorry if it's a dumb and redundant question!

He wrote an editorial in today's Washington Post, "Why we need fewer secrets". Does he think we need to go back to how things were when he was president? What does he know about fighting terrorism, except maybe build them all free houses? How long did it take him to get our hostages released? Oh yeah, now I remember, he NEVER got them released, they weren't released until Ronald Reagan became president. So why doesn't Jimmy just keep his mouth shut?

The trend of granting more and more rights to corporations continue today at alarming speed .These ideas are embedd in our legal system and talk about change , is just talk . Why not offer a progressive idea for real reform , like a Constitutional Amendment that would stop the bleeding . ( Taken from Joshua Holland , ported on AlterNet / Corporations Aren't People )

A friend and I are debating whether the President can vote for his or herself. I say he can, because he/she is still an American and is backed by the Constitution.

Can he/she vote for his or herself?

Now that it's a free country and that Saddam Hussein is no longer the bloodthirsty ruler there. I'm getting sick of the lib media not reporting any of the good things going on there. All the schools and hospitals being built. The strong democracy that George Bush has given them. The magnificent infrastructure with clean water and unlimited power supply. Not to mention the CHEAP gas. Man, I want to live there.
Don't worry about all those bombings, their just in the poor areas anyway.
Come on! Who wants to go?

Will he really call for a warrant if I say no?

He said he would, and that it would be easier if I just let him search my car. I told him I'd rather he didn't, and he told me he would call for a warrant to search- But he got called away on "more urgent business", and let me go on my way.

Was this just an intimidation thing, or would he have really gotten a warrant? I am in CA.

Do you agree? The first pro-choice movement in the south under the Democrats who wanted to keep slavery and expand it seem to have the same aguments as the pro-aboration people have. 1st, neither value human life, the speaker of the house in 1864 said: I personally don't own a slave BUT I don't want to stop any other from his legal right to own a slave.(I've heard that somehere). The Pro-Choice slave owners wanted to expand slave ownership westward, just as the Pro-Aboration want to expand aboration rights. The southerner's refered to their RIGHTS to own, beat, whip or kill slaves because" they" slaves/babies are not real human beings. Today's aborations are making the EXACT same claims and arguments as the slave owning ansectors did. Please read this history you will be blown away by the similarities.
It's all about what's human or just a baby or a black slave. They will go down in history together.
Question is: What do you think of history repeating again?

Many Americans are complaining of high taxes, high traffic, overcrowded Schools, stores, and people in the business of building more homes, having the attitude that they need to make money. Many local Governments are allowing contractors to build over and above the densities of what is generally allowed by their local Comprehensive plans.
Many local citizens are blaming this over population in their area because of building codes, and what the local Governments are allowing to build in these areas. Many say my quality of life has gone down hill in the last few years because of so many people living in my community. This can be attributed to contractor greed, and local Governments are going around the will of existing residents who have said over and over, we don't want you to approve the incease in density which will result in additional housing in these planned developments.
What are your feelings on these facts, and are you experiencing the same problem in your community?

The Army, Navy and Air Force face shortages of elite special operations forces that are playing a leading role in the war against terrorism, military records show.

The shortfall of Army special operations, Navy SEALs and Air Force combat controllers persists as the Pentagon seeks to expand the forces by 15% over the next four years to bolster the anti-terrorism campaign.

"Instead of an office job where they might have a cubicle & do the same job day in and day out, you ... will be a part of an elite team that travels the world looking for the bad guys," Clark said.
