A friend and I are debating whether the President can vote for his or herself. I say he can, because he/she is still an American and is backed by the Constitution.

Can he/she vote for his or herself?

Yes, the president is an American citizen and has the right to vote just like anyone else. This is not just true in the presidential election, but also for anyone running for senate, governor, even smaller state and county elections.

Yes, in fact during many elections, the news will show the President as he enters or leaves the voting booth.

Yes, of course. His vote is secret like everyone else's, so there would be no way to prevent him from voting for himself.
