Two billion is a pretty big lump of cash, not to mention unrecorded transfers of substantial Jewish capital out of the US for their homeland. The Jewish have proved their success in many fields and many have become powerhouses in entertainment, finance and the news media. We don't need to support them as they have proved very capable of taking care of themselves with the Mirage, the Seven Day war and through the turmoils of the present problems. They don't need the US as much as you might believe but certainly a bit of extra cash can be used by everyone. We flatter ourselves in the US by believing that we contribute to their welfare but they are exporting quality products, especially agriculture products and have even added a chapter to the UN's publication on mariculture with fish propagation and rearing. We may delude ourselves but if that money were stopped. Israel would continue but Britain might faulter. The difference lies in the people themselves. Jews have face adversity from time immemorable and have persisted. Do they need us or do we need them as a friend?

Because without the threat of our military backing, Israel would be wiped off the planet in less than a week by all of the Arabs who hate their guts.
