For example, here in Utah, when police are helping someone they have yellow flashing on their lights. I just saw someone pulled over and ticketed and there were only blue and red lights. I know they have different visual light codes for different events.

The holiday is known as Independence day. It just happens to be on July 4. Why say "Happy Fourth of July"?

Do people say Merry 25th of December? Happy 1st day of January? I wish you and your lover a fun and romantic February 14th??? How about, instead of happy birthday, we simply say "happy (whatever date your birthday is)".

The Fourth has no meaning unless it is remembered as Independence Day. Just as you should be referred to by your date of birth.

Small, minor detail? Too stupid a point to debate?

Maybe I will refer to you as your social security number from now on. I'm sure you think that's just as proper. After all, nothing is sacred or meaningful, least of all proper names.

Do you think it should be called by it's proper name or not? Is the date the only thing that matters? Does it matter at all what the holiday represents, or is it just another national holiday?

How did crime come to be? How do you define crime-- is it that which is illegal, or is the law in place to discourage that which is inherently criminal? Is crime fundamental to human existence or a curable condition? Is it desirable to cure crime?

Dr's say I can't return to work yet (must pass federal phisical criteria first, first open date to be tested is after short term leave runs out)). Employer says that after short term leave runs out they will terminate my employment regardless of medical condition.

Every now and then we hear about the trial of US soldiers charged with murder and rape in Iraq. Is this how they are trained to act on humanity, is this the freedom?. I don't think so, but why all these. Abu Graib, Haditha and others, it is unfortunate for a person who storm your country with peace and freedom (Heavy bombs & killings) and yet did not live you alone, then go on raping and murdering, and still telling the world that he is keeping peace in that particular area. Is this FREEDOM/PEACE? No!!! I do not think so, may be it is something else; so what is it?

I can understand why we need to imprison for life these creeps. However, the death penalty? I hear many people say that rapists and child molesters need to be put to death. But it's so easy to accuse a man of rape, and if you are a jilted lover, you could have sex with him, and there you have the DNA evidence you need to frame him for what would then be a capital crime.

So many people have been accused of rape and found innocent. Or convicted, but later exonerated. The death penalty for a rapist would be like life imprisonment for a pot smoker... overkill.
(Forgive the pun.)

At least life imprisonment allows for appeal and to refute the circumstantial evidence.

Now, I have an opinion on this, (I am obviously against it) but is there anyone out there who is in support of capital punishment for rapists or child molesters?

Would statutory rape count? A 17 year old has sex with someone who is just barely under the age of consent. Now he gets death? Because of love?

My husband and I went out and happened to see this guy with Native American jewelry on and long hair to his shoulders and he was in Indian dress and my husband, who is Native American(for real) wanted to ask this guy about his tribe and his people. So, he pulled up beside him and said "who are your people?" This moron turns around and says "I...no Englaise." My husband was disgusted and so was I. He asked him, "Are you a Mexican?" The guy replied "si". When we drove off my husband said, "Well, that proves he is ashamed of being Mexican." I agree. He was another wannabe claiming to be Native American but had no idea how except to dress like them. It was disgusting.

That is pathetic to try to make people believe you are something that you aren't. My husband was disgusted and so was I. He said, "Well that proves he is ashamed of being a Mexican."

I expect the usual dumb answers from the same people who usually post them so have at it.

How did he get a bachelor's degree from Yale, and a M.B.A. from Harvard. He learned to speak fluently two languages english and spanish. He was certified to fly a fighter jet. He's run multiple profitable businesses in the oil business and a sports team. He was elected to numerous public offices including governor of the second largest state Texas and the Presidency twice. His family is loaded with highly intelligent people so genetically it's highly likely he would be the same. To top it all off democrats say he "tricked" them into a war with Iraq. I've never been tricked by a dumb person. Are the people saying Bush is dumb just sore losermen?
