Let's get real. number one...you don't hear about it every now and then. Number two, no one has been proven guilty yet. Number three, Considering the pro-terrorist/insurgent propaganda coming from people such as yourself, why would anyone believe anything you had to say about what American troops are doing there anyway. Number four, the Americans have enabled the Iraqis to enjoy more freedom than they've ever known. It is not Americans who are preventing peace..it's freaking terrorists such as yourself.

Are you seriously saying that more military is raping and murdering innocent people over there then helping them? Of course they are not trained to do that, and the ones that are doing it should be charged and made to pay for what they have done. Let me tell you this, if there was no war going on and a military member went out and killed or raped someone, or committed any kind of crime, you wouldn't be hearing about it on the news, or at least wouldn't be hearing as much about it as you would during a time of war. I have lived in so many military citiies/towns, and the when a military member has commited a crime as bad as rape or murder, you never heard about it on the national news! We might have heard about it on the local news, but you didn't see it all over CNN and Nightline! These military people that commite these crimes are just bad. It's has nothing to do with the military or the training they get!
But to judge the whole military by a few asses, is totally wrong. It doesn't matter where you go, what line of work you're in, you're find people that are flat out horrible. Believe me, if these men are guilty of killing this poor girl and her family, then I wouldn't want o be them! They are probably going to be sentenced to death. I just don't get why everyone is so convinced that there is all this cover up and weirdness that goes on in the Armed Forces. I'm sure there are people that have tried to keep stuff hush-hush, but I believe that the majority of the military are good and honest people.

Okay, the actual percentage of military personnel doing said acts is very small. Of course in the military there is a criminal element. They have the same scum there is everywhere else, after all.
So consider that there are nearly 2.5 million enlisted in the military. Consider that there are between 138,000 and 238,000 in Iraq at any given time. Then do the math: Twenty soldiers (if that) have done something questionable in the last few months, something that's a violation of the Geneva Convention. That is a VERY small number. It's not even ten percent.
Do the math, and think about it. I know a lot of amazing people that have deployed, did what they had to, and don't regret a thing.

Yes i agree with the two other people giving you an answer. The media is out of hand when it reports the 'news'. I have friends serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The media never shows the positive effects on the both nations. I feel that the soldiers at the Abeu Carib prison were hero's. The guy who leaked this information should be taken care of in a --not so nice manner-- by his buddies at the prison. The media , someday, will be our downfall.

Most (but not all) of those accusation made against soldiers have been disproven. However the reason we hear so much about those accusations and not of the good things happening in Iraq and Afghanistan is due to the reporting of the bias liberal media. We never hear about those charges being dismissed, because it goes against the media’s agenda.
The thing to keep in mind is that good news pertaining to the war on terrorism is bad news for democrats.

we as americans are so quick to judge just because new york times and etc put a story in front page or keep the story going for ratings and profilt.
during desert storm there were black outs and no newsmen with the troops. now i understand why that concept was needed. our men and women get judged sentenced and executed all in one gesture.
Dont judge the soldier by what others do, dont judge the soldier
by what you can not do yourself and that is serve your country.
there are some soldiers that arent doing there job, and those soldiers need delt with. but dont judge all by what a few are doing and have done.

I'm not saying these things don't go on but you have to realize that we are only seeing and hearing what the media wants us to. The media has a hell of a lot to answer for with the way they report and handle things. After seeing the differences for myself (as in how one story is reported in the US and the same story in the UK) The two reports couldn't have been more different than night and day!
Its sad that our news now is not much better than a tabloid.

Its simple, the mainstream liberal media have an agenda to minimize any good news and maximize all bad news out of Iraq. Any "alledged incidents" are treated as fact before any court or military tribunal has convened to sift through what happenned. These cases are tried and convicted in the media. They will do ANYTHING to discredit Bush, even endanger American lives.

hmm your not wrong. but america's history shows us that. but muslims preaching peace then at the same time saying kill all white men and rape their women isnt peaceful either. i also dont think that cutting off the heads of people helping the people of iraq and then showing it on the TV and internet is peaceful either. in fact it makes ME want to kill you too. im not sure what you believe but there is still a war going on in iraq and during war men become monsters and terrible things happen. seeing your friends head being blown off by a sniper wouldnt make that soldier hold the iraq people in high regrad
