OK.. I have a bearded dragon. He is 2 1/2 years old.. I have had him since a hatchling. Lately he wont eat... And He just lays under his "home" in his terrarium. I know in the winter they go into a kinda state of "hibernation" (similar) but I have never seen him like this. Before he would atleast come out to eat... now he dont. Also.. what are the signs of calcium deficiency?? I am starting to worry about that because he wont eat... HELP! Thanks

I purchased one of those little turtles at the Los Angeles Santee Alley. I was told that it is not supposed to grow but based on what I found on the web, that particular turtle is a baby Red-Eared Slider. Am I correct that that is the most probable species? Can someone describe what I need to do to meet this turtle's needs? The info on the net is a bit hazy.

is that okay? she seemed to enjoy it. is it healthy for her, to add as maybe a side dish to her normal food?
here is a little backround about her first (i'm not sure if that will make a difference or not but oh well).
she is 4 years old and she was on and off anorexic for a total of probably 3 years during which time i had to force feed her baby food using a syringe. just recently she has started eating again on her own. the only foods she will eat are superworms, mice, waxworms, and romaine lettuce. in a 24 hour period she eats about 5 superworms, 2 waxworms, a pinkie mouse, and about 20-30 bite-sized pieces of lettuce.
anything she likes, i usually give to her, because she is such a picky eater and i want her to have as much variety as she can in her diet so she won't get bored with her food and turn anorexic again. the food that i mentioned above is THE ONLY foods she will eat. believe me, i've tried everything else.
so is it okay to give her cooked spaghetti noodles?

I have two red-eared sliders, and I noticed that algae has grown on them after a winter of hibernation. I've had them for about 7-8 years now, and this has never happened before. I know that algae sometimes grow on turtle shells, but one of my turtles has a hind foot covered with algae - it actually grew on its skin. I don't think this is normal... Has anyone had similar experiences? Is this a normal occurance? And if not, how do you get rid of the algae? I was able to wash the carapace, but my turtle won't let me touch its foot. Also, this turtle has been sick since last spring, while the other one is healthy and doesn't have any algae growth on its limbs. Could poor health have had something to do with it?

Sorry if that was confusing, I just have two questions - is this normal and are there any ways to get rid of the algae on my turtle's foot. Any answers appreciated, thanks!

I was just given a male leopard gecko. I already had a male and I can'r stick the new male in the same cage. Does anyone know where I can buy a cage divider so that I can put them in the same cage without them fighting. It's a 75 gallon aquarium so there will be planty of room. Don't say Petco or Pet Smart. I alredy checked both and they only carry dividers for fish not lizards.

What I'm looking for is a UVB bulb that will also give off a fair amount of heat. This is for bearded dragons. I would like something similar to a Power Sun bulb. They are expensive, so I'm looking for alternatives.
