I'm on the side of the folks that have said "all of them" - except for the new color morphs. Tangerine geckos, high yellows, albinos, and the like are pretty, but wouldn't last long with predators.

But, yes, all species of lizards that you see as pets started from wild-caught specimens.

There are many kinds of lizards, however. If you want to know more about those found around where you live, do a Google search by typing the name of your state/country/province/county/parrish (depending on where you're from) with the word "lizards" and you should be able to get a list of those near your. If you add the word "photo" to the search, you'll gets pictures, too.

Some lizards are nocturnal, meaning they only come out at night, and others are diurnal, meaning they're out during the day and sleep at night like we do.

Every type of lizard started off in nature. the first answer on here is correct in that but I would argue that man has not in any way tamed any type of lizards. There are some species that are docile and are well suited for life with humans but we had nothing to do with that, it was all the lizard. If you want to know what types of lizards exist in nature I would suggest getting and researching a lizard book, it may not be complete with every single type of lizard as there are way too many to mention but it will give youa good idea. You can even take a book out of a library and study it a while and then return it and get another. Good luck to you,
Dale
