i just dont understand why people are willing to take their pets to the vet for every little thing. Every question on here is answered with "take it to the vet". vets can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.. theres no way im paying that much for a visit. if my pet is going to cost that much then my pet is taking a long walk in the woods. I have had many pets and ive never been to the vet. I have two cats and we just lost a dog because it got sick, yup took it to the woods. i take care of them, keep them happy and fed, but theres no way im spending that much on my pet... Just wanted to know how others feel about this.

I have found some little bugs that jump in my bathroom. I noticed some in my bed, and I THINK I saw one in my son's bed too. Now, I could be paranoid because we had a bad case of the fleas a year ago, but I am afraid that we have them again. We have one cat, and one dog. We use Frontline on both our animlas, but I was 2 days late putting it on this month. I checked our animals for bugs, but I did not see any. Could these bugs be something else other than fleas? If so, What? I have heard of Springtails, but how do I know what the difference is?!! Thank you!

I'm not sure if she hasn't had her period yet or she just had it and we never realized it. Reason being is because she is outside most of the day because it is typically nicer outside. She is now 1 and a half years old. So she should of had it half a year ago. Should I be alarmed and take her to the vet or is it common for dogs to have relatively unnoticeable periods?

Thanks in advanced.

I have a small tank and shallow dirt substrate right now, I'm making some more as we speak. I put some lettuce in the tank. Just wondering if there's anything else I can do besides go to bed and put the dirt and some live insects in there tomorrow. His name is Filandrin' Pete, any advice? Thanks!

I plan on getting a rabbit soon and I wanted to know how much an American Fuzzy Lop, a Flemish Giant or a German Grey Giant would cost.

I would prefer the cost of a baby rabbit, but whatever you know is okay.

Hi,

the people that live behind me have this pre-historic rat for a dog which they keep on a lead chained to their back door.

It has no kennel, and even when it rains it is left out in the cold to soak and they seem to ignore the fact that it whines all night which is keeping me up!

What can you do about this - the poor creature 'yelps' and i feel sorry for it!

I have a 5 and a half year old spayed female boxer. I rescued her a year ago from a rescue league so I don't know much of her background. However, I do know that for some reason, boxers tend to be prone to UTI's. (Urinary Tract Infections)

We had her on Science Diet Maintenance dry/canned for about the first 10 months or so. I recently switched her to Iams Large Breed dry/canned. She does well on it but her urinary pH is shooting back up.

Now I know that the food "ingredient", ash, has some role in the pH. My question lies in what good quality food(s) are good for boxers? And can anyone tell me that these "breed specific" diets are actually any different than regular food?

Thanks for all your advice.
