We raise calves into feeders....Raising them ..it depends on how old it is. If it is just off of it's mother you will need to bottle feed it with a milk supplement from the feed store. You will need to medicate with milk or otherwise against Coccidosis. If it is not really young there are a variety of feeds some medicated some not. The feed store can help you determine what you need to feed given the age. There are also some vaccines that you need to administer. Depending again on how old it is it can go outside and eat grass or hay or both.
If I were you and you want to keep it as a pet, call your vet and have your vet do all of the above and tell you how to care for it. Whether you eat it or not ask your vet about dehorning it.
You need to spend everyday with that cow/calf to develop training, halter training and leading especially. Once that cow is a couple of months old it will be a couple of hundred pounds and if you don't teach it to walk with you, it will walk over you and you will want to eat it yourself.

My grandparents lived on a farm and raised milking shorthorns. As an adult I have lived on a farm raised beef cattle and dairy cattle.

Cows do not have a personality. They were never intended to be pets. They are meant to produce meat or milk.

I HIGHLY discourage anyone from trying to have a cow as a pet. Get a dog, get a cat. Or Gerbil.....
