I used to raise Mini Rex's and they have a silky coat unlike other rabbits. That is their #1 distinction. The color on yours in the photo looks similar to a dutch but could be a Mini Rex too. Without feeling the rabbit I couldn't tell you. Mini Rex's come in a variety of colors. Your vet is probably right. Either way your rabbit looks nice and healthy!

The Rex has a velvet coat. I don't think they come in dutch coloring. It can be almost impossible to tell a breed exactly without coming from a breeder--there are so many mixed breeds and colors out there. Your bunny is cute! :)

he does look like a mini-rex i had-just different color. is his fur really soft? mine was. mine was really sweet, so hopefully he will be too. i had mine neutered, but since he is your only one you shouldnt have to. http://www.nmrrc.com/ you might look there. hopefully that helps somewhat.
