Should I get a ferret? I live in a brand new townhouse; I am renting. I have no loud noisy kids, want an affectionate and sweet and playful companion. Do they smell? What is the price? Are they right for me? What is an alternative pet if not a ferret? A bird? What do you think? Please help me ASAP! =)

We just moved recently and house has a rabbit cage already made. I live in Mississippi so the weather would be fine for it to be outside. What type of supplies do I need so it will have adequate shelter and food? Also what do rabbits eat? Thanks for the help in advance.

I am thinking about using a hackamore on my horse, but i read somewhere that they can be just as severe (or worse) as a regular bit. Is there anything I should know or any recommendations before I try this? What type is the best w/out tourturing my horse?

My ferrets don't seem to like the bedding I have now because they both are sneezing. I don't want to buy the bedding that's for ferrets b/c it is so expensive, and the budget that I have it just doesnt work. So I was thinking about how about I shred newspaper and use that as bedding. Would this be okay for my ferrets? If it's not then I guess I'm just going to have to buy the expensive stuff because I don't want my babies sneezing.

I am not an animal lover. I suggest all the dog lovers to prepare a animal house for dogs and feed them properly instead of leaving them on roads. This suggestion is for all those fighting for rights of dogs.

I went to Petco yesterday and they had several species of hamsters. WHat would be the best for my son. He wants to hold them a lot of course. He loves his sisters totally tame syrian hamster but I wanted to get him something different. What is the best choice? I saw a Roborovski that was SO cute and I the clerk opens the cage and I tried to catch him, he never offered to bite but boy is he fast. They also had Black Bear, Fancy, Dwarf, Teddybear etc...

If I get the Roborovski will I ever be able to tame it enough to hold it like we do with my daughters hammy?

Our rabbit decided it was a good idea to eat a fair amount of hot sauce, next day it seems to be doing OK just less active, she drank lots of water. Will the hot sauce kill her?

I "talk" to my cat sometimes and am wondering if he actually hears anything except vaguely meow-like babble.

One of our horses (mare, 4 yrs old, draft/tb), Fiona, lost her back end and is wobbling all over the place. She was perfectly fine yesterday, and today my sister rode her and was fine for a couple minutes and then her backend gave out. She started 10 min or so into the ride. She was crossing over, trying to stay up, always falling to the right.
The vet came out and gave steriods. She did have a vaccination yesterday, and we are hoping for the best- an inflammation reaction in the spine, but the vet says possible but unlikely.
Fiona is falling all over the place, but is in no pain, her front end works fine, and has no nuerological signs. She is in a stall and very pissed about it- her normal behavior.Everything is normal- except her backend.

Do you know of anything like this? Could it be wobbles (I thought that was an all body thing)? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. We do not want to have to put this young mare down.

I have just adopted my sisters rabbit. Previously he was kept in quite a small cage and was never allowed out to frolic or play. I have now set him up in our garden with a two level cage and a 25ft x 4 ft run! He is about 5 years and as I have never had a rabbit I have a few questions! 1) How do i pick him up? He kicks quite violently and obviously scratches. I dont want either of us to get hurt! 2) How much fresh veg should he have daily & what sort should I give him? 3) I have been feeding him rabbit dried food but he doesnt seem to be eating very much of it! He has got access to fresh grass in his run & seems to spend all of his time eating that & not his pellet food, is that ok for him? 4)The cage he is in is 2 tier, and for some reason he seems ok getting down but I have never seen him go back up. This is a problem as he is free in the run all day and his water/food is at the top of the run. how can i encourage him to go back up? 5) Whats the best way to cut his nails? Thanks!

It makes me sick to hear, read or see people harming animal's I'm only 18 working part time whilst in college and I'm giving most of my pay check to dog funds e.g./ RSPCA,APAH. An RSPCA women shown me pictures of what people do to dogs e.g./ i seen a picture of a dog with half an ear because someone had cut it off also another dog had its tail axed off for no reason other than people been cruel to animals. I think something should be done to stop so many abandoned, beaten dogs as well as many other animal's and also the government should fund more animal charity's. This is my view, what do you think?

Should something be done to try stop animal cruelty?
Should the government fund to help animal charity?

Please post what you think about Animal cruelty.

My mujm teaches a piano business from home and we got a donation box for the RSPCA because of the paws for a cause promotion. So far none of her piano students have put in any money. I want to print out a sign and stick it abover the box telling people why they should donate to the RSpca and why it's such a good cause. I not good with words so i want someone to type up a paragraph for me. Thanks!

I seen sugar gliders for sale today at the flee market, and I like them. I am considering buying one in the future, but I am gonna first research more info on how hard the are to care for and if they truely make a good pet? How much they cost, a fair price? How hard they are to tame? Anything special I should know before purchasing them, I am looking for any input that other owners can tell me.
