I use the fleece for my guinea pigs, I was just wondering if it would be ok to use it for the hamsters also? Most likley I would still use a small amount up in thier sleeping quarters but as far as the main cage goes would it be alright?

Im trying to get pet rats but my parents think there dirty and disgusting. I have enough money to buy a cage and 2 rats. But my parents say i have a jack russel dog that hunts rodents. And it would be cruel on her to get rats. I want to get pet ratties without putting stress on my parents.

Okay I was going to clean out my hamsters cage today and I found newborn hamsters, probably born today this morning or yesterday. I didd not mess with them but I did tap the mom so I could see them better to make sure that is what i was seeing. Tonight I went to check on them because I got a weird feeling and only two of the babies were there. So I moved some shavings (didn't know I wasn't suppose to) and there were 3 dead ones and who knows how many more dead ones buried somewhere else. They didn't appear to have wounds and only 1 was missing a leg (guessing a birth defect). I did have the father in the cage (again didn't know at the time I was supposed to take him out). I was just wondering why did they die? I don't think the mother killed them...

I am renting out my pastures, and one of the horses is due to have a foal in May. While I have a lot of experience with horses, I have little on the breeding/foaling area. I did not know this mare was pregnant when we rented out our pastures, and I have found the owner to be neglectful and cheap when it comes to the horses care(I would have evicted , but I was more worried about what would happen if I wasn't watching over them). So I know that when the mare goes into labor, I will be the only one out there. I really need some help and advice on warning signs of troubled labor and also what are the signs of a good labor. I've been gaining her trust (grooming her, treats, and love) so she won't kick the hell out of me if anything happens, but I need to know what those signs are. When do I let nature take it's course, and when do I call a vet (I may have to eat the bill for a horse I don't own)?

I know this is a weird situation, so I could really use advice from a vet or breeder!

With the horse i have just bought the owner said that he works well in a double bridle, but i have read that its not a good choice unless you are a very experienced rider, what do you think? Also does any one know a good web site that will tell me about all the bridles and what there are used for?

I have a few questions about pet rats:
1. Is there anyone out there who didn’t like them as pets?
2. How easy are they to train?
3. Can they eat dog food?
4. What is the down side to owning a rat?
5. The up side?
6. If you have ever owned a sugar glider please compare them.
7. Do they need any special heating in there cage?
8. Do they smell?
9. Will it run away from me if I put it on the floor?
10. How can I convince my mom to let me have one?*she hates them*
Please tell me anymore important info that I have not added.
I want to know everything, the good and the bad.
Thank you VERY much.

She must have been trying to ruin my life. I have not found her yet and it has been almost 3 hours. It is like she vansihed. What if I never find her? Her babies are going to die. They are going crazy eating seeds in the cage. I cant even sleep and I have school at 7 and it is 2:50. I cant believe I am going to kill 12 hamsters . I am going to hell

Well, I do. His name is Senior Pablo. And he has to be the biggest jerk I have ever met. He screams at me and I swear he talks about me behind my back to his wheel.

He has eaten through two water bottles and one house. Sometimes, he sleeps in the corner of his cage and he is so cute. All ball of fur like and stuffing his face full of food. But then I remember what a jerk he is.

I have to wear protective gloves to change his bedding. He is not safe for kids so I can't give him away and I'm not going to "put him down".

So, I'm stuck with a hammy that I love to hate.

Fluffy barked, just as I stepped out of my bedroom door lastnight... startled and not realizing the baby oil had dripped down the hallway (I had been hot-waxing my **** earlier) I violently afrighted. As my dishes went flying through the air Fluffy barked again and then he took off running. As I was going over the banister rails of my loft to the tune of "Fluffy and breaking dishes" I suddenly thought to myself... this is gonna be nasty... I weigh 600lbs....
Lucky thing for me poor Fluffy broke my fall...
Any advise on how to remove small animals from hard to reach areas?

hello everyone,
i have pet mice.
the first two i got were feeder mice a friends snake wouldnt eat.
i felt bad for the lil ones so i decided to keep them.
they were orignally so small there eyes werent open. well now there all grown up. well one of the two likes to run in circles often. i looked this up and know the problem. he doesnt do it as much anymore but the other mouse grew ALOT faster then this one and this one always seemed a little "touched" well all he really does is sit around and doesnt do much. hes not a runner nor is he really active that much. he always sits hunched over. well i think hes blind. how could i tell hes blind? he doesnt react to any movement of my hands just noise and smell. i recently got 2 fancy mice and they live with the touched one and they clean and take care of him.
whats wrong with him?

I have 2 degus, and they are mother and daughter. the mother is growing very old, and its ready to die, and the daughter degu is very energetic and not even close to dying. I read that they can get depressed if they do not have a mate, and die. I'm scared that when my degu dies the other one will die too, and I will feel bad because it will not be it's time to die.

Any advice?
