Rabbits usually sleep during the day, and they sleep about 12 hours a day. Do you think your rabbit is sleeping more than usual? Also, yellowish fur could just be from a messy cage (sleeping in urine?)

Make sure the cage is kept clean at all times, make sure your rabbit is eating and drinking well and doesn't have any other signs of illness, such as watery eyes, diarrhea, etc. If you are unsure, check with your vet. How old is your rabbit? Rabbits living outdoors in a hutch live about 5-6 years, living indoors about 10 years. If your rabbit is getting older, it could be sleeping more.

The sleeping too much thing is probably nothing to worry about.

The fur getting a little bit yellowish could be one of two things:

If the rabbit is a white satin, as they get older their white fur will get a bit of a yellowish tint to it due to the clear outer portion of the hair follicle. It's natural to happen in white satins.

The other more probable cause is that the rabbit is peeing on the walls or floor and then rubbing up against the walls or floor. If you have a cage with solid walls, wipe the walls down regularly with an old warm wet rag. If you have a cage with a solid floor, make sure you clean it out regularly. If you have a male rabbit next door and the cage walls are wire and are a solid partition the other rabbit could be peeing on it. Only a male rabbit will pee up on the walls like that and then rub against it.

Too clean the pee stain off the fur, soak an old clean rag with a little bit of white vinegar, then use the soaked rag to work on the stain. After treating with the white vinegar, use a warm wet rag soaked with water then squeezed to get the excess out to kind of rinse the vinegar out. Then dry with a dry towel. You may have to repeat the process a couple of times.

Hydrogen peroxide can be used instead of white vinegar for white rabbits. Do not use hydrogen peroxide on colored rabbits. It will bleach the fur. I recommend white vinegar over hydrogen peroxide though, because if too much hydrogen peroxide is used it can give a pinkish tinge to the fur.

Sometimes corn starch, especially for white rabbits can be used to help pull the stain out of the fur after the white vinegar is used. It can be used to help absorb up the stain.

You have to be careful though, especially if you are trying to remove a stain before a show. It is a disqualification to have any foreign substance on the fur at a rabbit show.

If the rabbit is peeing on himself then I don't recommend using the rabbit to breed with. That rabbit will throw that character trait into his offspring and most to all of the males out of that buck will pee on themselves. It's a very very bad trait to incorporate into a rabbit show herd.

So it sounds like your rabbit isn't sick at all. He's just got a bad trait.

your rabbit might have diarrhea. you must change the bedding in its quarters and make sure that it has very fresh food and water. it needs minerals as well which it can chew off. go to your petstore if you can find mineral stones, your rabbits food must have fiber for good digestion and i suggest that you should bring it to the vet.

Is your rabbit alone?? because a rabbit needs a LOT of attention, rabbits get depressed you know

i would take him to your vet as it could be due to a number of reasons. one could be that he may not be grooming/ cleaning himself as much as he used to do due to dental problems. rabbits suffer from alot of teeth problems. just check under his fur though to make sure his skin isnt yellow as that could be liver damage. take him to your vet just for a check
