You can build your own cat enclosure for a lot less. I've found a few sites with pictures of how others did theirs. Your enclosure is only limited by your imaginaton and wallet, but be creative with things you may already have, yard sales is another place to get materials for the enclosure.

Ok.... good luck with that. Unless it's fully enclosed with a roof, you're not going to keep the cats in the backyard. They will jump or climb over fences, and it's really safer for them to stay inside. The radio collar pet doors are really nice, you can put the sensor on the dog's collar so the door will open for the dog, but not for the cats (although if your cats are smart they may figure out how to follow the dog).

There are dog doors with collars that allow only those animals wearing the collars to pass through the door. Check 'em out!! Keep those kitties indoors unless you'll be watching them or they'll be safe in a kitty enclosure!

Lock the dog door. Cats won't stay in a backyard unless it's enclosed top and sides.

The best thing is to leave them inside. You can not control a cat like you can a dog they are way too independent. Good luck with that.

Hi Lexy, You can't not keep a cat or cats in anyones back yard. They have a mind of their own and will come and go as they please. The only way you will beable to keep them in the back yard is put them in a cage or carrier. I don't think you really want to do that. A Friend.

i closed the doggy door up cause i have a neighbor that told me he was gonna catch my cats and kill them and then hang them in my trees. so i HAD to lock the doggy door. i went out and bought a big dog kennel with an extra panel that i put on the top. then i put some cat friendly trees and plants in the kennel. i added a space covered for a litter box and quite a few climbing and resting areas for the cats i have to manually take them out one by one and put them in their "cage". now let me see that b@#&*(@D next door neighbor kill my cats!!! because i DID PUT UP A CAMERA SURVELIANCE for my yard.

My dad built a far less expensive Arizona sunroom, which was just basicallyscreening in the covered back porch. Most kitties will love something like that.
