I'm thinking of getting another guinea pig, I have one already who's a year old and he's very bored and lonely... I know I have the heart and money for another one, the only problem is convincing my family I can care for another one. Should I get another guinea pig? Should I wait? How should I approach my family with this question?

I recently took over care for a friends rabbit who wasnt properly taken care of. It lived in a small cage with no room to hop around, was not taken out of his cage to get exercise, and was hardly ever handled, and also had no toys to chew on or hay to eat. Now he lives in a much bigger cage with lots of toys, hay and plenty of room to hop around, but when i try to take him out of his cage so he can get out and hop around other places he goes to the back of his cage and when I pick him up he is breathing really heavy and shaking because hes scared. How can I make him not scared to be picked up?

I can't believe an animal activist group in Berlin told a zoo to kill a polar bear cub because it's mother ignored it. Their reasoning is insane! They say let nature take it's course and that a wild animal can not be domesticated. Staying alive is not domesticated. And I would like to see how theses "activists" live! No doubt they all drive gass guzzlers and spend a fortune in energy bills just like most of the world which is destroying the Polar Bears natural environment. So who else is going to keep the species alive other than zoos. The zoo should be praised for its efforts to keep one more polar bear alive!

I have a nubian goat which we are currently milking. I would like something to use to get rid of the lice without effecting the milk taste/production. I have heard that seven dust can do the trick, but not sure. Any suggestions?

Only serious answers please, thanks

I am about to get a new puppy and have always wanted a golden retriever but I don't know if that is the most practical now. I am practically house bound and while I have a big backyard I don't have the agility to play in it. Would it be cruel to get a dog that energetic under those circumstances? Do labs or golden ret. differ in any significant way? Thanks

We have a BIG, comfy cage w/all the amenities. The first 2 are littermates so I'm just wondering if they will hurt the new, smaller one.

My friends feed their dogs dry pet food, Ol'Roy and Pedigree, and their dogs are getting sick!! They say there is no recall on dry pet food but I beg to differ! Has anyone seen anything about dry dog food being recalled yet? I really care for my friends dogs and don't want anything bad to happen to them, but I can't find any info. on dry food.

my near life long companion, of 23 yrs, died monday morning of what we now believe to be poisoning from this contaminated pet food. i personally am not looking to take this case to court, my best friends life has no monetary meaning, however i would like to see that myself and all other pet owners receive a formal appology for my pets wrongful death. i know that they have stated they were sorry for all the worry this has caused, but what about all the tears we have all shed and watching our poor pets health deteriorate to the point that he could no longer drink the water from his pet bowl, it had to be given by syringe. not only am i extremely hurt, i am extremely outraged. to everyone that this has effected, i am sorry you had to go through this, personally i would wish this on noone. my life since monday has been very depressing and sad. Does anyone think that we will see these apologies for our animals illnesses?

This polar bear being raised in the zoo do you think it is right? I mean this happens a few times. Just recently watching a show on Animal Planet where they had a baby cub raised to about a year old, and then intergrated with two female polar bears. So I see nothing wrong with this. Your view? Thanks.

I'm looking for a bombproof/novice ride native pony? I've found a couple of places in England but I asked about transportation and it adds a huge expense!

Hi, I wrote a question earlier about my horse being to small for me. Well just to let you know my horse is in fact a pony, she is 14.1 hands. Im a little too big for her but my riding school is getting a new horse next month so I will be transferred over to the horse.

We are going swimming with our horses this weekend. I am looking foward to it but am a little nervous at the same time. I was checking it up on the net and I read that it can be dangerous for you and for the horse. It said that when you get to deep water, that you have to lift off the horses back and trail your legs out behind you. It said that you can not stay seated on the back because you might start to drown the horse. Is this true? Im abit nervous because my mount is actually a pony not a horse and im worried that i might be too heavy and drown the pony. Last week my instructor said that I would be fine. But im still a bit aprehensive.

Tainted cat & dog food was recalled after many pets suffered
Kidney failure, besides the pain that it causes as well as the expense that is involved, How do we, who lost a family member get back at these companies that placed no value on
the food they made for pets. They should be held accountable
We still mourn our pet "Tiger" (Cat).

It's like saying "Oh granny is 87, I guess we will put her to sleep". I think animals should die on their own but if they are in pain, they should be put to sleep.

I am a female, and me and my boyfriend have 2 female rats. We play with them, and they like both of us indiscriminately, yet lately one of our rats seems to be paying extra attention to the human male. She grooms him, pees on him, sniffs him, jumps on his head, etc. She is not scared or annoyed by me, she just seems not to really care. She is young. Why would she be like this all of a sudden?
