Would it be good to get him a male companion or would they attack each other? Also he constantly seems 'busy' to get out of his cage, he has boxes/a wheel etc, but finds little amusement in these. Is there anything else we could give yhim to entertain him, short of a femla hamster ;)

I had 2 pet gerbils. In the morning, I found one of my gerbils missing. The top part of the cage (mesh wire) was destroyed. Did the gerbil escape or did one of my cats eat him? I have 5 cats.

Mine is my current cat, Corwin, though I still miss my old white cat, Leo. Leo was a lap cat, and Corwin isn't, but he's very smart and affectionate. He can open doors by himself and jump like a kangaroo! Who was your best pet?

we bought her a habitrails mini cage and it comes with this gravity fed, mushroom shaped waterbottle that feeds into a trough like thing. She has had it for about 6 months but just the past two weeks she keeps knocking it over. The metal bars on the cage are super tiny so we decided to buy her a conventional waterbottle to hang on the outside but had to bend the bars to fit the spout part in the cage. Well within a day she pushed it out and managed to squeeze through the metal bars. I called the pet store and they had no suggestions. What do you think would best remedy this issue?

I've been keeping gerbils and hamsters for many years, and am thinking I'd like to get something different this time. I was thinking of getting a couple of mice, but as I said above- I keep hearing how cool rats can be.

I just got finished reading on a site where they said that you should NEVER let your gp run in an exercise ball or wheel. We just bought out gp and I also bought her a big ball to run in like our hamsters do. From the people who have gp's what do you think? Do you let your gp's run around in the ball and are ok? Also, I was wondering if it is ok to give you gp a bath? I know your not supposed to give hamsters bathes, but what about the gp's. Oh yeah, and would it be ok to let them run around in my room unsupervised as long as I keep cords, ect out of reach for them. (thier cage is in my room also, so they could always go back (I plan on cage training them to where they go back to do thier busniess)

i have a sharpei and his original name is Baileys, thats because his previous owner named him after the alcohol....

but i renamed him SPONGE...

Because one day out of the blue i called him "Bay-Leaf-a-Sponge"...
Bay Leaf came from the leaf that you put in the Spaghetti and SPONGE came out of no where, and thats how he got his name "SPONGE"...

Just tell their name(s) and story is optional....

my ferrets have colds.. really bad ones.. they are on antibiotics and are still eating and drinking ok. But one of them is having a weird symptom, it looks like she's flexing the same muscles she flexes when she goes poop. is it possible it's the same general area as where labored breathing could be? i'm not explaining this well, i apologize. just looks like she's contracting her muscles like when she goes to the bathroom, and she's doing it a lot. already been to the vets, hence the antibiotics for the cold, but she wasn't this bad when we went on Monday. anything i can do to help comfort her? p.s. both sick ferrets are 7 years old and one has Insulinoma.
