Why are some people so cruel to animals....are they really serial killers in the closet?

i would say that most that are cruel to animals are not serial killers, but it is one of red flags.

most people who torture dogs and cats as children i mean really torture them probally will be how do you know you ask the psych evals that have been done on people who have committed horendous show that this type of torture starts when they are children out of a sadist need to control and when the creature human/animal does'nt comply it gets tortured

I believe that it's something genetic. Same reason why some guys are wife beaters and others aren't. Most times people don't care about the animal. They that "oh that's just a dog, they don't have feelings".... How about I put you in that dog's shoes and see how you feeling about not being fed, and being ignored.

Because they can. Because a dog, for instance, will put up with a LOT of abuse before it tries to defend itself.
Because maybe their girlfriend of wife already left them and they have nobody else to beat up on.
Finally and probably most importantly: because they hate themselves and don't know how to love anyone else.

Yes, they may have mental issues of their own or have been abused themselves in the past.
