my ferrets have colds.. really bad ones.. they are on antibiotics and are still eating and drinking ok. But one of them is having a weird symptom, it looks like she's flexing the same muscles she flexes when she goes poop. is it possible it's the same general area as where labored breathing could be? i'm not explaining this well, i apologize. just looks like she's contracting her muscles like when she goes to the bathroom, and she's doing it a lot. already been to the vets, hence the antibiotics for the cold, but she wasn't this bad when we went on Monday. anything i can do to help comfort her? p.s. both sick ferrets are 7 years old and one has Insulinoma.

Your ferrets are "Senior citizens" in the ferret world. One has insulinoma, as you said, and they are both just bound to have problems. I find this whole situation suspicious ESPECIALLY about the one ferret who is actually getting worse and not better. Although they have been to the vet already and have gotten the antibiotics I think they should go back again ASAP! There may be something else wrong with your ferrets.
Did the vet take blood for blood-work? How did the vet make the diagnosis? Is it possible the "cold" could be related to the insulinoma or other ferret disorders? Is this vet experienced with the care of exotic pets and ferrets? These are all questions you have to ask yourself AND the vet. Good luck and take care of those fuzz-butts.

Awfully old for ferrets. Antibiotics upset their stomaches and often cause diarrhea. Hope she is not getting ready to go to the big wheel in the sky.

Ferrets only live 7 years and then they die.They don't live long.
