I just started traininga two year colt and I have rode him around the corral a couple times. I heard that you can ruin their knees if rode too young because they are still growing. Is that true? Can I use the horse to trail cows or is he too young?

I am not one that is out for best answers or anything, though its fun to get them, what my biggest pet peeve is, is why people post these great questions and URGENT questions and then not follow up on them? It takes less than 3 seconds to pick one and say what the conclusion was. ARGGGGHH its like never finishing that great book your reading.

Nine days ago, my five year old got a bunny for her b-day. Three days ago, I came home from work to find two babies in the cage. One alive; one dead. I thought that maybe the one had been stillborn and she was still in labor.

She didn't have anymore until yesterday after noon , when I found a second dead one. I know that it was not in the cage the previous day. My major concern is that these babies are not small and pink. They were all at least 2-3 inches long and they had fuzz on them. The mother did not leave any signs that she attempted to eat them, although she did chew the cord off on both.

Is it possible that she went too far overdue and the two died as a result. The mother seems to feel fine, is eating well, and nursing the baby. I still see some spotting though and have been spot cleaning her cage. I cannot afford to take her to the vet as we didn't plan on a bunny, let alone babies. She is a dwarf and she was NOT obviously pregnant or overweight.

I clean my hamsters cage at least once a week. I have put newspaper in the bottom of his cage UNDER the shavings. After I did it, I thought maybe it might not be a good idea. Does anyone else do this? The bottom of the cage is getting this.. hard calcium stuff on it that I cant get out.. that is why I thought of newspaper. I have seen plenty of them in the store chewing on toilet paper rolls and such, but I am not sure about newspaper.. any suggestions? Will this harm him? Thanks for your quick response.. I just changed Squiggys cage.

I got a new hammie yesterday from PetSmart and they woke him up so when he was all slow and squinty eyed, I thought he was just tired, but when I got him home and put him in his new house (which was perfect and clean) He was still all tired looking and slow and ALL night he NEVER drank water then at 1 am he started to twitch like he had bad hiccups so I left offered him water and he STILL didnt want it, so then all of a sudden he took a deep breathe and died. What was he sick from?? Should I call Petsmart??

My hamster Doug is about two and a half now, and is in perfect health and still very quick and active, but I've noticed his claws have grown exceptionally long now. Some are so log they curl back on themselves. Is there anything I can put in his cage that would help, a form of hamster scratching post if you will. I don't remember any of my other hamster's claws getting to this length and I'm worried it may be painfull or make walking/climbing difficult for him

I think he mite be blind... When i go near him or go to grab him or anything- he doesn't move, but as soon as a grabhim, he freaks. Plus, when i refilled his water, when he came to drink it, it seemed like he was having trouble finding where to drink. I can't afford to bring him to a vet and get him checked out, so how can i figure out if he is blind? And if he is, how do i help?
