I got a new hammie yesterday from PetSmart and they woke him up so when he was all slow and squinty eyed, I thought he was just tired, but when I got him home and put him in his new house (which was perfect and clean) He was still all tired looking and slow and ALL night he NEVER drank water then at 1 am he started to twitch like he had bad hiccups so I left offered him water and he STILL didnt want it, so then all of a sudden he took a deep breathe and died. What was he sick from?? Should I call Petsmart??

Definately call PetSmart. They do stand behind all their animals and they just might know what happened. And if you call them now, which is the day after he died, I am sure they would not expect you to bring in the poor deceased hampster. Just check first, unless you want to bring him in so they can properly take care of the body.

I would take him back to petsmart and present him to them. With receipt. They should give you a refund. And go elsewhere to get yourself a hamster!
My very first pet when i was a kid was a hamster called Pinky, he died very quickly, my mum had a shout at the petstore for selling a sick hamster, got full refund, and a replacement called Ben who lived for 2 years. Funny what you remember from when you were a kid!

You have to take your dead hamster back into petsmart, I know it sounds morbid, but if you take the deceased one back they will exchange it for a new one. Make sure you clean out the cage though before bringing in the new hamster.

No animal just dies overnight unless they were sick to begin with. Take the hamster back to the store and demand another one or a refund of your whole purchase. Take your receipt with you. It's a good idea to call the store first.

Definatly call the pet store. He was sick before you brought him home. It was very irresponsible of Petsmart not to notice.

yes you should call Pet Smart.... Apparently the hamster was sick .. the others might be sick also so this way they can check the remaining hamsters out.... Im sure they will replace the animal with a healthy one....Im sorry he died. that is sad...

hamsters are really sensitive to draft, but it sounds like this hamster was sick when you got him. You should definetly call Petsmart and demand your money back.

Oh my gosh! That's so sad but probobly kind of scary 2 watch! Def. call petsmart QUICK!! they can get u a new one-if u still want one! Anyway-i dont know what could b wrong w it!
