A couple years ago I had a hen that hatched chicks and they froze to death in the nest, I noticed it gets a little cold outside at night (like 60 degrees) and I've been worried. Also the other hens often go in the same nest box and sometimes crush her eggs what should I do about that?

I already have a bad mosquito problem, a bat house up in sunlight, and a small bat population in my town. They just haven't seemed to notice the houses for what is now about a month. Are there any chemicals or scents or noises that they are attracted to?

After doing much research on ferrets, I've concluded l don't really want one. At first, the idea seemed particularly good to me but as I read up on how they can become quite expensive because of medical bills and what not, I decided against it. I'm all for caring for my animals, believe me. But the kind of money I'd have to spend on a ferret is just too much for me to handle at the moment. So, I chose a different option. A rabbit. I've read that they like attention and what not and aren't that hard to take care of. If anyone could give me more information on them, I'd appreciate it. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for a pet that would be suitable for someone that likes to cuddle w/her animals, please feel free to suggest them here. I really want a new companion. :)
