I have a female bunny that's only 4 months old and one that's almost a year and they seem to like each other. but we only let them see each other through their cages, and we were thinking of letting them breed together. but how old does the female bunny have to be to have babbies?

My brother raised rabbits with the 4-H club. Believe me, the rabbits know exactly when to breed. Seems like some will breed at about 14 to 17 weeks. But being the 4-H club, they were required to be between 17 and 18 weeks. This would make the newly born rabbits to be bigger and healthier.

yes 4 months is old enough to have babies. Please reconsider breeding your rabbit. There are many rabbits out there that need good homes. And you don't need to look farther than the local animal shelter to find one. Chances are if you breed rabbit most of them will end up as easter presents then the child will grow board with the bunny and it will be throwen into a field and die or it will be given to an animal shelter... where the process will start all over again

I recommend the doe(girl) be about 6 months old the buck(boy) about 7 months be careful though it might not work out the way you planned runts of the litter will die and their are lots of bunnies in the world already plus you might be ending up with 20 babies ( i had that happen once) so just don't let them breed hope i helped!

Do not let them breed. It's a lot of work to care for babies and there are so many unwanted rabbits in the world. You should get your rabbits fixed. They will be much happier that way.

the female needs to be older, and you have to make sure that you know what to do. read before thinking it would be cute to have bunnie babies. they take a lot of work and the mother needs to be older because she might not take care of the babies herself and you will have too
