I already have a bad mosquito problem, a bat house up in sunlight, and a small bat population in my town. They just haven't seemed to notice the houses for what is now about a month. Are there any chemicals or scents or noises that they are attracted to?

I don't know exactly how to attract the bats, but they are always asleep in the peach tree in my backyard. I don't know why they sleep there but they do. I don't know if they are attracted to any chemicals but maybe they are attracted to the scent of peaches, although I only notice them in the day when they are asleep and that wouldn't do any good if you need them to be awake.

Put some bright lights high up in your back yard.
That will attract the flying insects, which in turn will attract the bats. Of course, your neighbors might not care much for the extra illumination.

I don't have the information myself but you might want to check the web for sites which give you information about bats. I know that there are a lot of groups who are interested in bats and their conservation so I would imagine that there is more than one site to check.

i will tell you what we have noticed in our yard, we have a party w/friends, music, drinking , laughter, smoke & all of a sudden we will have like 10 bats hanging around, its really weird, i think the smell of booze draws them in, and we have even witness 1 landing on a budweiser can on the picnic table.

Bat houses is the best way. Talk to your local parks department and they can give you some local advice.

why do u want bats in ur backyard>isnt that kinda of annoying??well there attracted to flowers and sweet smells
