After doing much research on ferrets, I've concluded l don't really want one. At first, the idea seemed particularly good to me but as I read up on how they can become quite expensive because of medical bills and what not, I decided against it. I'm all for caring for my animals, believe me. But the kind of money I'd have to spend on a ferret is just too much for me to handle at the moment. So, I chose a different option. A rabbit. I've read that they like attention and what not and aren't that hard to take care of. If anyone could give me more information on them, I'd appreciate it. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for a pet that would be suitable for someone that likes to cuddle w/her animals, please feel free to suggest them here. I really want a new companion. :)

Rabbits aren't always cheap pets, either. They should be spayed or neutered to prevent health problems (I have seven and all are fixed). They do get sick and if you are a responsible pet owner you should take them to the vet. My old guy has racked up almost $600 in vet bills this year as he had a stroke and then a massive bacterial infection.

A good website for reference into having a rabbit in your home is the House Rabbit Website www.rabbit.org I have learned TONS from them.

Rabbits are cuddly in their own way, but you have to be willing to get down on their level and understand their 'language'. Although I have cats as well, I prefer them to cats. They are awesome pets, but not one that can be taken for granted.

Rabbits are not cuddling animals. Most hate being picked up and will scratch you badly. If you don't pick it up properly and it wiggles you could break its back. Anyway, check out these websites and see if a rabbit is right for you.

I have a rabbit myself which is a Mini Black and White Rex named Molly.

A few facts to know about your rabbit:

Rabbits are known to have bad cases with their eyes which they can suffer greatly from.

When cutting thier nails make sure you hold thier back legs firmly or when they try to jump away from you they may throw out their backs causing serious injury.

I love my rabbit, best pet i ever had (other then my dog hes more like a baby then a pet) She love to be pet, she poops in a litter box, she lives in a big exercise pupy pen. They love to play. they need room to hop so keeping them in a cage wont really work unless you let them hop around when you are home. My rabbot cracks me up. They like playying with things, i have a babyies rattle in her home and she picks it up and throws it around. She also like to move her towle around and rolls around in it, They are cuddlly but for short periods of time. Its best to get them fixed so they wont urinate all over.
