Well, why am I not surprised that nearly everyone is picking dogs and cats? Before I read the answers I thought, "Bets that everyone answers some sort of wild or domestic dog or cat!" For that reason I am going to tell you what my non dog/cat favorite animal is to be different. :) (Not that I don't like dogs and cats! I might be inclined to answer that my American Pit Bull Terrier is my favorite animal... if I wanted to be like everyone else.)

Goat. Not just any goat; I don't like pygmy goats at all. Not wild mountain goats either. I am talking about the Dairy Goat. As in registered with the American Dairy Goat Association. FYI that's the goat equivalent of the American Kennel Club... I even have a specific favorite breed of Dairy Goat. I prefer Toggenburgs. "Togs" are chocolate brown with two white stripes down thier face, a white triangle at the base of the tail, and white around the edges of their ears. They are very affectionate and cute, though they are a bit short compared to most dairy goat breeds. Contrary to popular idiot belief, goats don't eat tin cans. Goats are actually very smart and can be trained in similar ways to dogs. Goats have unique and funny personalities and I have known goats that were kept as a house pet like a dog, and trained to go to the bathroom outside as well. When kept in their original context, goats are very useful. They produce milk like cows, the difference being that goat milk is less likely to cause allergic reactions and is easier to digest. Goat meat is very tasty as well. Goats can be trained for other tasks such as cart pulling and carying a pack like a donkey. A pack goat is more surefooted than a donkey and can go places a donkey can't, plus they are able to carry more for their weight than a donkey or pack horse.
So, goats can produce meat and milk like cows, pack and pull carts like donkeys, be housetrained like dogs, and have amazing and unique personalities. For these reasons I think they make the perfect practical pet for the family with a little bit of land. :) That's why they are my favorite animal.

Horses, because they become not only a pet to ride, but a part of ur heart as ur best friend, someone to talk to when ur lonely, alone or afraid.
They will stand there and listen , and u can cry tons of tears & they still love u.
a horse is like a dog, man & womans best friends.

My favorite animal is a polar bear. I like them because they are big and fluffy, at least they look like it. Plus the baby polar bears are really cute!!!!

I like snakes like the green andaconda,boas and pythons,my fav venomus snake is the Coral snake,my fav common snake is the common Garter snake,i like snakes because awesome.

Dog of course. I have one that is half shiatsu half chihuahua. He doesn't look anything like them either. He is sooooo adorable!!! His name is Milo. If everyone had a dog like mine their lives would be perfect.
