My son got attacked by a Great Dane. He was playin ball with a friend. The dog jumped the fence and attacked him. The owner of the dog was renting a house which was owned by her parents. The owner of the dog moved to another location. She left the dog for her parents to take of until she got settled into her new house. Can I file a claim against her parents homeowners inc. even though they wasnt the owner of the dog? The owner of the dog doesnt have any type of inc.

Thanks for yalls help!

If I put them in a pastic container or a ziploc bag, they mold within 2 days. Some ingredients are chicken broth, wheat flour, cornmeal and yeast. I even leave them in the oven over night. Can I put them in a dehydrator?

We've had a stray for a week and still waiting for an owner to call. I am preparing for the possiblity that no one will claim her. I will not be taking this sweet dog to the shelter as I would rather keep her here with us until a suitable home can be found. A local rescue has given me an interview form to do with potential adoptive family to be sure I can place her in a good home. I will have her spayed and brought up to date on all shots. We have a local organization that sterilizes very inexpensively ($60 less than our vet) and does so for these types of cases. I would like to get as much of this cost back as possible from the prospective adoptive party, tho willing to take a loss to see her placed.

Is it wrong to ask an "adoption fee" to help cover the vet bills if I am not a proper rescue group? Is there a better/more proper way to word it? I will not let her go for free as I feel that if someone can't pay something to take a dog in, they may not be able to afford proper care.

I just got an adorable pitt Bull puppy and my kids adore him. i just found out that if you have a pitt bull you cant have fire insurance. I really dont want to get rid of him, but i have already had a house fire and i dont want to have one that isnt insured. So, i want to know if you would keep him and hope for the best, or if you would get rid of him.

I walk alone or with my small terrior dog sometimes. The neighborhood I walk in has dogs and sometimes they are loose. I get more barks and curiousity from other dogs when I'm with my dog than when I'm walking alone. Usually dogs that were loose in the neighborhood would quickly go to my dog to smell him.

Or, when I'm alone, dogs that were loose, would try to walk up to me. But I'd yell at them and tell them to get back in their yard. Both times they responded and backed down.

Here's the question - how to deal with a vicious dog who won't respond to my commands or a dog who wants to attack my smaller dog while I'm on a walk - what other options do I have to protect myself besides the following:

Pepper spray (I hear that's effective)
Rambo Style (Carry a sharp stick and stab the dog to death)
Physical fighting (I might loose to a really crazy dog)
Shooting the dog with my gun (last resort)

What other methods can I use that you know are effective?

What do they do if you break a rule like taking a pet with you, have a dog the size of a cat and was thinking about taking her with me for the weekend, just wondering what they would do if they found out.

Our black lab passed away back in the summer and we are wanting to get a chocolate lab. The black lab was wonderful with the kids and just a wonderful pet. I have had some people say to stay away from chocolate labs. Does anyone know anything about the chocolate labs compared to the black labs?
