My sister has 2. Both are very sweet (and VERY large)! I am leery of ANY adult dog that I am not familiar with.

Punish the deed, not the breed!

I never was afraid of them so no nothings changed.
I still would never own one.I'm old and they have way too much energy for me.I know I'd never be able to keep up with it.
Guess I'm in the minority that actually takes the time to research what I don't understand.
I'm a 47 yr.old woman.5'3" and average build. And it burns people who own these so called viscious dogs to watch me walk right by their big bad mean pitbull who is snapping and snarling at me all the way to the front door where I knock and wait for it to be answered.By the time the door is opened for me the dog and I are friends more often than not.
Have'nt been attacked by a pit yet other than to get a tongue bath.

I have two pit bulls. One is the father of the other. My puppy is spoiled rotten and the older dog is more like a toddler in his terrible twos. They are my pride and joy. Its all about how you respect your dog, and vise versa. If you dont train your dog the way you want it to be, then of course there is that doubt of it being a little mean, but if you love and honor and respect the breed as it should be, pitbulls are the most adorable creatures walking the face of the earth!

Ps.....I am about to get another puppy, ITS A GIRL! (finally)

I don't like pit bulls or rottweilers. I have read many news reports and court cases of maulings and fatal attacks by these breeds. I own a Labrador retriever who would never hurt anyone, he loves everyone, so I don't understand why someone would want to own a dog that has a tendency to attack and kill people.

I don't think the owners are entirely at fault, although of course they never should have let their dogs run loose or get off the leash. I think the breeding of these types of dogs effects their temperament, they tend to be ill-tempered. Of course how you raise these dogs plays a role, but its in the nature of these dogs to bite.

I lovingly raised two little kittens from the time they were 7 weeks old. They both got the best of care and both were treated with lots of love. One happens to be kind of vicious and tries to bite/scratch guests that come to my house as well as the vet as well as my dog. I didn't raise him to be vicious, he just ended up that way! Its just his temperament.

I am not afraid of pit bulls I own one and she just had nine purebred pit bull pups seven weeks ago. My female is the sweetest and well manured dog that I know. Also I have friends and family that own pit bulls as well. PUNISH THE DEED NOT THE BREED!!!!

no, not afraid of pitbulls. and for the comments above about labs, they are actually higher on the CDC bite list than pitbulls. Pits however cause a lot more damage when they do bite. although, the french lady who needed the first face transplant was caused by a lab.

nope ...not afraid of pit bulls...just afraid of some of the ignorant owners who don't know how to handle the breed. and can otherwise turn a smart intelligent animal into a fighting machine for the only purpose of god knows what!

Personally, I like Pit Bulls. I like Dobermans, I like Rotts. It's how you raise them. Even a 'calm' breed can tear your throat out if you want to teach them that way. I have two children. When my son was a baby, we lived with several different pits. they were all awesome with him. Never had to worry.

No I have a male pit and he's like a big baby. He always wants someone to love on him. He goes every where with us. I'm not afraid of him biting anyone either unless they were messing with my son. He's protective of my child he doesn't let him out of his sight.

NO! My mom has a pit named Jax and he is the sweetest thing in the world. I know that Pits are good dog, just sometimes they have bad owners who in turn make them bad also. They are product of their environment.

I am, a few weeks ago 2 pitbulls jumped a fence and tried to attack me and my Shih Tzu and 2 kids playing by their yard, I had to go to a neighbors house so they wouldn't hurt my dog. Once I got home I called animal control.
