I had a puppy 14 weeks old and I fed it the food it usually had when i got it from a breeder. But you should feed it regular puppy food. You should feed your puppy about 3 to 4 times a day until your puppy starts not finishing her food. when that happens you should start feeding it 2 times a day. Remember only give your puppy 10 minutes to eat or it will become picky. If its not done in 10 minutes take away its food and throw it out. Theres no need to feel sorry for your dog. Your dog should know that it must finish its food or starve.

Hi,
A 14 week old puppy should be fed 3 times a day. What you feed is your choice and it's whatever will suit your dog.I don't like tinned food of any kind as it is 75% water.I feed a complete food of Burns Mini Bites puppy, making sure fresh water is always available. It is quite expensive but is a quality food.

Hiya Donna
if you want a good healthy dog you should feed the right food, the right amounts on a regular basis, just leaving food down for your dog is not enough, you say you feed pedigree chum, well there is an address on the packaging, write and ask for a puppy pack, this tell you what you should be feeding at what age and weight/size of your dog, all this is free, good luck hun....
Donna i looked up this Addy for you give it a go, they are a good help,

What food
Choose a dry food intended specifically for puppies, avoiding generic foods and those that sell for unusually low prices. We suggest brand name puppy food because it is impossible to distinguish good dog food from poor dog food simply by looking at the ingredient list on the label. Many things that owners look for, such as high protein levels and extra vitamins, are as likely to be harmful than helpful. For example, overfeeding and over supplementation are factors contributing to hip dysplasia. If you have a large-breed puppy, purchase "large breed" puppy food. The actual formula is different, not just the the kibble size, and is better for very rapidly growing puppies.
How often
Offer food to young puppies three times a day. If your puppy isn't hungry that often, reduce the frequency. After ten or twelve weeks of age, feed twice a day. Even adult dogs should have their food split into morning and evening feedings. When fed once a day dogs become overly hungry and are more likely to overeat at mealtime.
Let your puppy eat as much as she wants in fifteen minutes and then pick up the food dish. Having food continually available encourages overeating, and chubby puppies are more likely to have hip dysplasia and weight problems later in life. Also, because free-fed puppies never get very hungry, they don't enjoy their food unless given special treats. The combination of special treats and freely available food encourages them to become bored, overweight and picky.
(Adding onto the food thing; just because a brand name food is popular, that doesn't mean it's any good. Avoid foods that have by-products and corn in the ingredients list, opting for real meat, higher quality grains, and more nutritional fillers like peas, carrots, etc. I like Nature's Variety, Sold Gold, Wellness, and Blue Buffalo.)

Leaving food down isn't a good idea because it promotes "grazing". Puppies usually like to have their tummies full, so three feedings a day is best. How much to feed depends on the weight. Contact a vet and ask them. Don't go by the guidelines on the bag of food. Their job is to sell as much dogfood as possible. They'd like your furry friends to be nice and plump! Meat is fine--but are you cooking it yourself? My dog developed severe skin allergies because of all the by products of commercial dogfood. The vets at UGA in Athens recommended that I make my own food by boiling chicken, carrots and peas, and then freezing small amounts of it in ziplock bags. This way they never develop allergy problems. (Sounds weird but some people do it!) I just couldn't go that route--so as an alternative, I starting buying Canine ZD low allergen. It has helped tremendously with the skin problems. Hope this helps! Good luck!

she should be fed 1-2 cups of dry food in the morning and 1-2 cups in the evening. you should change her puppy food to large breed adult food in about a month. leaving a bowl of food out all day long is NOT a good idea! she should be on a routine. the reason behind this is dogs are opportunistic and will eat all day long if given the chance and this could be why she has an upset tummy. and could lead to an overweight dog.
you say you feed her meat? raw?she might be too young for that. if you go raw wait until she is older and talk to other people who are experienced in raw feeding.(yahoo groups- german shepherd)alot of the people in this group raw feed and are very knowledgeable about it and can help you if you decide to go that route.

You should feed at least twice a day, but more frequently if you can. I measure my dogs food out every morning, and then feed her small bits from the measuring cup threw out the day... usually 3-4 times. This means smaller more frequent meals, and less chance for bloat and gas.
