My weimaraner-so sweet and loving is a now a brutal murderer. Today alone she has caught and I believe shook to death 2 chipmunks, took a little taste and walked away. Is this a normal instinct? I thought these dogs primarily chased birds?

My mini dach started having contractions last night. They weren't really hard, but I could definetely tell they were contractions. They were really far apart, and as of this morning she hasn't had pups. But she's not staying in her place I made for her to have the pups either.
I'm wondering if dogs have braxton-hicks contractions (false labor) like women do?
And, after these contractions, how long until pups arrive?
Today is her 59th day from her first tie with the male.

Thanks to all in advance!

About the last year and a half my dog is starting to lose his hair on his lower back by his tail. Every month we buy different pellets for him, because if he eats to much of the same brand, he starts to lose his hair. Some months his hair are nice and thick and then suddenly its gone again. I regularly give him his bob martins. Please help me?

Hello All
We are thinking of getting a puppy in a few weeks and have already started stocking up on supplies (kennel, dog bed, lead, collar etc) I have fallen in love with Chocolate Labs but have heard they can easily become overweight if overfed and do not receive enough exercise. What is the recommended amount of exercise and if you have any other tips they would be appreciated! Thanks

You have no contact information so I must do this here. I happen to know the woman who frist wrote the question you were so rude about. There is a old saying walk a mile in someone eles shoes. I know you will not beleive this but this woman is very educated. She had a a heart attack and was in a coma for 3 months. She can speak quite will but she can't put her thought into words very well. It took a a$$ like you to shame her so bad she as deleted her name from yahoo. It took months for her family and myself to get her to try doing this and you took months of work and turned it into sh!t. I am sure you are proud of how you took this womans main way of reaching out away. Hope someone dose it to you when you at your lowest. Thank you. By the way I know I can't spell and my grammer is sh!tie so no need to try to do it to me *****.

I moved from an area that is humid to an area that is dry and my dog is constantly itching from dry skin. i tried medicated shampoo and a off the shelf cortisone spray but nothing seems to work. Is there anything i can do? He has a flea collar so i think fleas are out of the question.

Her heart has only 2 chambers working and putting her to sleep for the operation would probably kill her. Yet, if that eye blows out, she will be in a lot of pain. My 10 year old daughter is begging me to save her, even if I feel like we should just put her down. I am so torn as to what the right thing to do is. Has anyone else ever had this happen to thier pet? Would my daughter hate me for putting down a pet she has had almost her whole life? Why do vets charge so much money knowing folks love their pets, but can't afford such high costs as this?
